Nets trade:
Jason Kidd
Darrell Armstrong

Cavs trade:
Daniel Gibson
Eric Snow
Ira Newble
Donyell Marshall
2009 first round pick
2010 first round pick

LeBron has been insisting to the managment to get off there hands and make something happen. The draft picks would seal the deal IMO because they really have nothing aside from Gooden, who is filling in for a hurt Anderson and Gibson who would be a nice back-up to Marcus Williams. For the Nets you get almost 3.5 million off the books this year and then 13 million off the year after. Rather than just letting Kidd's contract expire, you get rid of him while recieving draft picks and a youth.

Nets trade:
Richard Jefferson
Malik Allen
Antoine Wright
Bostjan Nachbar

Spurs trade:
Tiago Splitter
Ian Mahinmi
Jacque Vaughn
Francisco Elson
Michael Finley
Robert Horry
Brent Barry
2008 first round pick

The Spurs were a lot more production from Ime Udoka and didn't expect Bowens offense to drop even further down South but both these things happened. With this trade the Spurs pick up a top ten small forward who can allow Bowen to focus only on defense while he brings in a get to the basket mentality; something the Spurs are short of. They also fill in the spots traded away in young Wright and Nachbar who can hit the outside shot when they are feeling it. For the Nets, they recieve expirings galour. A total of 15 mil expiring this year while also recieving gifted young centers Splitter Mahinmi along with a first round pick.

Nets trade:
Vince Carter
Jamaal Magloire

Clippers trade:
Corey Maggette
Sam Cassell
Shaun Livingston
2009 second round pick

Clippers have to compete against the Lakers not only basketball wise but star power as well. With the pick up of Pau Gasol, many fans would find no need to go see a Clippers game since Shaun and Brand are both sidelined. Vince is a name that people know and come out to see no matter the city. As for the Nets, they get an expiring in all three of roughly 18 million.

We then have a roster looking something like this:

Centers:
Nenad Krstic
Josh Boone
Tiago Splitter
Francisco Elson
Ian Mahinmi

Power forwards:
Sean Williams
Stromile Swift
Donyell Marshall
Robert Horry

Small forwards:
Corey Maggette
Ira Newble

Shooting gaurds:
Michael Finley
Brent Barry

Point gaurds:
Marcus Williams
Sam Cassell
Shaun Livingston
Eric Snow
Daniel Gibson
Jacque Vaughn

Draft picks:
2008 first round pick - Nets
2008 first round pick - Spurs
2008 second round pick - Nets
2009 first round pick - Cavs
2009 first round pick - Nets
2009 second round pick - Clippers
2009 second round pick - Nets
2010 first round pick - Cavs
2010 first round pick - Nets
2010 second round pick - Nets

Of course the lineup would not have that many guys on it. Cassell, Finley and others would be bought out leaving the roster weak but in good means to tank. Get a good draft pick and have a year or two to build around that one man. If we decided not to resign anyone out of that group, we'd be left with:

Sean Williams
Marcus Williams
Josh Boone
Jacque Vaughn
Stromile Swift
Eric Snow
Donyell Marshall

Even with this group you now have only Sean Williams with a contract past that year leaving you with lot's of cap room and a brand new arena waiting for a superstar to take the franchise under his wing.

I know we can get back better talent but this is merely the Memphis way of doing things.

This is pretty funny and definitely imaginative. One thing though: My understanding is that a team can't trade their first round pick in consecutive years (to prevent an owner from completely gutting a team, I think), so we couldn't get both the 2009 and 2010 1st rounders from Cleveland.

I also hope we're going to get a LOT of cash in those deals to buy those players out!

You can trade your picks in back to back years under 2 circumstances.

1) The previous draft in which you had traded a pick has been completed.

IE: no 2007 pick, day second 1st round is over in 2007 draft, you can trade your 2008 pick.

2) If you trade for another 1st rounder in either of the drafts you want to move your pick 2 years running.

IE: trade our 2008 and 2009 1st round pick for the Timberwolves 2008 or 2009 1st round pick.

Hahahaha, that's awesome. I wish we could completely gut out the team like that. Now THAT is blowing it up.

Although, I could never see the Spurs going for that. Looks ugly for them. DO IT.

haha nice. That's like a megaton (megathron) bomb-blowing it up. Problem is, I don't think we have enough roster spots to fit 19 players (not including draft picks!)

I never like your crazy ideas -- until now.

Yeah I figured that but Cassell wants Boston and other will want to win.

Is their a certain number a players you can buy out? Or we could just waive them since they expire too.

I say play Sean at the gaurd.

haha hey Sean is a point-forward, so I'd back it

This could work if we were the Knicks, and had the resources to have 20 some people on the payroll for a year!

I'm starting to think Kidd will not be moved until this summer. The recent changes with the Suns Spurs and Lakers will make the Mavs think long and hard.
