I have been a long time supporter of Meyers, and was very happy we drafted him.
I believed he had all-star potential. He had an amazing college game, in the paint. I even compared him to a poor mans Sabonis.
If you watch his college games, a case can be made that he would go in the top 5 in this draft class.
This says two things. First, this draft class is way over hyped. And just maybe the GMs are not as sold as the fans. Look how fast Denver dumped their (Grizz) pick to us.
Second. Very few of Meyer’s College paint skills developed into NBA level skills. He started out well, but then he tried to re-invent himself. When watching his practice tapes, he spends more time clowning around than actually trying to develop useful skills.
Sadly, I have given up on Meyers. His mind is not in the right place to be an NBA player. At some point, we need to cut loses and move on. I believe after so many seasons, the time has come to move on from Meyers.
My point is, I believed in Meyers. But he let me, and the rest of the fans, down. We have a right to be butt hurt about Meyers.
