Trump: Bernie Sanders wants to tax 'you people' at 90 percent

I understand we must have some sort of social program, but every inch you give, they will ask for more. Before you know it, you look back and realize they've taken a mile.

30 Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.

That's a great passage! And those that have the freedom to do that by choice is what makes one a great Christian. When u are forced to do it, then the passage will not work.

Thanks again for the uplifting scripture.

"...the moral test of government is how that government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; those who are in the shadows of life; the sick, the needy and the handicapped. " ~ Last Speech of Hubert H. Humphrey

"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Ghandi

"I just want to help the people I care about, the rest should just fuck off and die." - Mags

If you need scripture to tell you the right thing to do you have completely missed the point of religion.

you have completely missed the point of religion

Ah! Spoken like a the sage of the age. Please sir, expound on the point of religion. I have studied for years to approach and understanding, and you seem poised to offer succinct insight, perhaps even clarity with wisdom.

Wow, must of struck a nerve yesterday Sly. Now you using hyperbole on me?

Those quotes, other than mine of course, explain the great country "Denmark" that Bernie the socialist communist promotes, has the most strict policies on immigration. Ever wonder why the refugees aren't in Denmark? There's a reason.

Maybe you should protest Denmark and give those quotes to Bernie. Practice what he preach and shut like that

Your proffered heart tug quotes remind me of the ads run by the DNC showing Grandma tumbling over the cliff in her wheel chair. Heart tugs are hard to ignore but they are more often offered, rather disingenuously, to expand government into the role of a religion rather than fill a need. I find it a real red flag when people want to restrict religion through government, and at the same time, expand the role of government using heart tugs and even scripture.

Seems a bit contradictory doesn't it. Then again, these same people praise Sanders for wanting to be like Denmark, then call Republicans racist for wanting to stop illegal immigration, knowing Denmark is the most strict country in the world on immigration.

Well don't be too harsh Mags, I just don't think they see what is happening to them. Perhaps Sly will bring clarity and wisdom if he returns. But in my humble opinion, I think we have been experiencing a rather disjointed effort to tamp down and discredit religion so that the positive (perceived with limited insight) roles of religion which they believe the government can not advocate, can be replace or assumed by government. This has been going on now for 50 years or so. While the government is not to promote any one religion, it doesn't mean we are free of religion or there is no need for religion. This need in society, is completely independent of whether you have or do not have a faith in God. The need is there for civility, morality, and boundaries of what is to be governed, like rights. Right are ours, regardless government and the office holders. The power hungry would roll this up in to one single central control. No way in heaven or hell can this be good or accepted by an enlightened people.

I'm not gonna turn this into a religion debate. I know that some posters want me to rant about my ideas about God to deflect the focus on Bernie Sanders being pro communism.

Fine. And the issue is not religious. But you will notice above where the heart tugs were issued and scripture was quoted. This is the history of Socialism, promoting faith in government to replace religion or the role in society that religious institutions fill. The Bernie wants to take care of the heart tug issues in our world, Trump wants to take care of how we deal with Nations.
I would prefer to send the Donald to deal with Iran and ISS, on the other hand we might be better served by a group of clergy dealing with what Bernie want to take on.

No I get that...

both sides want to help the weak, they just have differing viewpoints on how to do so. For example, Clinton thought lowering loan requirements for people would be helpful, decade later we had a mortgage crisis / economic disaster hurting everybody and lower income individuals even more. Emotional actions in response to critical issues don't always produce the best results in the long run.

I think we treat "low income" people far better than just above poverty line/middle class people.

I know my case is anecdotal but my best friend lives in a 3 bedroom home that is subsidized by the government, and he gets disability (he really isn't disabled though, which will always piss me off) and all he does is smoke pot and go to the gym every day on the tax payers dime (still manages to complain). Yet my mother who works her ass off at a hard labor job and makes less than 30k a year doesn't qualify for any assistance and is living in a small apartment to save money.
