So it seems that John Kelly got the story about the congresswoman claiming credit for funding the building
completely wrong.
What she actually claimed credit for was helping to get the building named after two FBI officers killed in the line of duty.
Not sure why he felt he needed to attack her. Makes him look a lot more like his boss than an honest guy.

Also: Kelly tries to save Trump's ass by telling everyone he (Kelly) told Trump that what they told him (Kelly) when his kid died was "He knew what he signed up for"
Think about this for 2 seconds.
1. The way Kelly tells it, Trump asks this AS HE'S MAKING THE CALL. So he literally doesn't know what he's going to say - has NOTHING planned.
2. He just parrots Kelly.
3. What they said to Kelly makes SOME sense, one military guy to another. But does it make ANY sense to, y'know, normal people? Like a grieving, pregnant widow?
4. Kelly has to know that Trump can't carry this off, that he'll make anything but the safest, blandest condolences sound bad.
5. Kelly also says something like "he was where he wanted to be, with people he wanted to be with." Now it emerges that we have NO idea of why he was in Niger, where he had NO backup, and where private contractors ABANDONED HIM SURROUNDED BY THE ENEMY.
6. Also: Rep. Wilson was a fucking DECADES-LONG personal friend of the family, not some hanger-on politician. She knew them from before she went into politics. She wasn't "listening in" she was there and the family put it on speakerphone.
I guess soldiers are taught they've got to do what they're told, but it would be nice if they drew the line at baldfaced lying to the American public. And the funny part is: he's not good at it. Maybe let Kelly do the consoling and Trump do the lying - both should stick to their wheelhouses.
