Donald Trump accused some who cast ballots in US elections by mail of "cheating," even though he intends to do so in Florida as part of the Sunshine State's primary.

The president made clear he opposes states moving to all-absentee ballot elections amid the coronavirus epidemic, telling reporters Tuesday night he fears that would lead to widespread voter fraud. He defended his request for an absentee ballot because "I'm here in the White House."

Previous chiefs executive also have cast ballots from afar – but few, if any, claimed voting-by-mail automatically triggers "cheating."

He was given the choice versus required all-mailed in ballots. I personally don't like mail in ballots. My precinct is pretty well run though, and I can walk there in 2 minutes.

Joe Donlon!
I even recognize that guy. Had to go back and look. I was thinking of that bald sports reporter when I read your post.

I was wrong.

That link I didn't even pay attention to because it isn't where I saw it. Just googled mayor haircut virus or something like that.

I was thinking of Joe Becker. Googled it and he is working for KATU if nothing has changed from 2019.

I'm still surprised theres a backlash for having Voters show their ID.

Finally received my bribe last week, and it didn't bounce. I'm all set for the election.

Because some states will invalidate your ID for things like unpaid parking tickets. Civil penalties should not take away your right to vote.

Eh...whatevzzzzzz. shit is still wack, yo

I watch Joe Becker every night on the the 11 o'clock news. Actually, he's on only about half the nights 'cause the news station is probable too damned cheap to pay him for five nights a week.

Not everyone has ID.
Some people don't drive or have a passport. They don't need to cash a check or need ID because they don't really own anything. These sort of people tend to be Black and Democrats (who else is going to stick up for poor Black people) and exactly what Republicans don't want voting.

Are you claiming trump lies and is a hypocrite? Tell me it ain't so.

"These sort of people" is incredibly racist and close-minded.

The only argument against mail in ballots is voter suppression, since so many states already have mail in ballots and they work really well.

Even if there were some negative issues with mail in ballots (I don't believe there are any more than other kinds of voting) but during a time of extremely rare pandemic crisis it's these sort of actions (mail in voting) that needs to be put in place for the safety of the people. It's clearly a republican fight to try and restrict the votes as it has been shown republicans typically do better in lower turnouts and have been more known to try and suppress voting to keep the numbers down, especially in minority districts. I think the suppression is even worse than Russian hacking as it's something we should be able to easily control.

and? What does the president do on a daily basis as I have seen him on stage during his briefings not following the social distancing requirements and nobody wearing masks and this has been going on for weeks. What's your feelings on that? :bgrin:

Careful, you might be called something very compelling...like one of the "Milano twins".

...also, I'll add make this preemptive response; :bwpopcorn: ...or maybe something even more cerebral, like "slurp slurp"...wait for it.

I don't share that opinion.

I didn't get that statement either...I mean, you even also said; " (who else is going to stick up for poor Black people) and exactly what Republicans don't want voting."

So I don't see how your post can possibly construed as "racist".

I doubt I will get a response and definitely unlikely to be an educated quality response if I do get one.

Are you sure that wasn't a skit on SNL?

When I first read it, I thought it had to have been a parody. But there's video.
