The government getting distracted by promises of business people needs to be a thing of the past.

Of course, reward the business people when they do well and develop something great. But proven technology shouldn't be set aside because some billionaire says he has an idea...

Did anybody actually take The Boring Company seriously?

They've only dug a couple small tunnels and to my knowledge they haven't developed anything new at all...

He's very serious in some respects. The development of electric cars may not have happened to such a degree today without him. Reusable rockets. Usable satellite internet.

He absolutely stood on the shoulder of geniuses to make these things happen, but he had the ability to create enough inertia to push those genius ideas and developments through.

These are very serious things. But he had to actually develop them and prove they were successful before the government started counting on them.

The Boring Company and the vacuum tube thing were always flights of fancy. Neither was ever a serious alternative to California HSR.

*Edit* If California HSR was actually impacted by Elon Musk's daydreaming, I feel like it proves the point that we've gone too far with government obstructionism and Democrats need to figure that out.

Things are going to be developed. People are sick of it. They will be developed at some point, and without any environmental concerns if Democrats hold their line with such strict governmental obstructionism.

SpaceX rockets explode more than they don’t. Tesla cars are some of the least safe on the road. His decisions made the products of both companies worse because he is a fucking moron.

Sure. But none of that changes the fact that we have far more electric cars and reusable rockets now than we probably would have had without him.

The self-driving on Tesla's is also far superior to any other car manufacturer.
