About 2.5 million (subtract deaths + recovered from total cases). That seems off, given that there are about 45,000 people testing positive each day and the typical infection takes around 2-3 weeks to recover from. Say three weeks x 45,000 is 945,000 cases. I must be missing something. Obviously, people who get severe cases take much longer, but that's a relatively small percentage.

my guess is that the 'recovered' number is clinical. That meaning some kind of confirmed recovered protocol. I'd imagine many people officially counted as positive might not have follow-up checks when they are feeling better...they just go on about their lives
