If what is being said is not true then you wouldn't say it was said off the record.

Here is the timeline from yesterday.

1. Details of new book about Trump Whitehouse is released.

2. WH says it's all lies. Everything made up.

3. Author says he has recordings.

4. WH says, recordings?!? Then everything was off the record.
I don't care if this guy ruins his reputation. I wouldn't even tell people I interviewed that anything would be off the record. Maybe he didn't. All I'm saying is that off the record is being mentioned and people are surprised there are tapes. Sounds like a Project Veritas type of operation...and I'm fine with it. I'm not trying to censor him.

I want to know the truth at all times, which is why I don't like when you edit things here. If there's a bad word you could censor it and leave the intent.

Calling someone a motherfucker doesn't mean it's true. It's just an insult and that's not allowed here.

Yeah, fine. If I read a thread after the fact and the entire intent was edited out and not just the words how can I know what happened?

You're a (expletive deleted) makes sense.

An empty, gutted post followed by a nasty yet legal response makes the person responding look bad.

"Off the record" carries no legal protections--it's a gentleman's agreement that's important to honor in some cases and not in others. It's not like client-attorney privilege. If someone told a reporter, "This is off the record, but I have a plan in place to assassinate the President," it'd be ridiculous not to report it. Even serious news or observations relevant to the reporters' investigation that isn't criminal doesn't make sense "off the record." The only place "off the record" is appropriate is if someone wants to explain their thinking but doesn't want that thinking splashed across the news.

Unless we knew what parts were supposedly off the record (and we knew the person claiming it was is telling the truth), there's no way to know if the writer did something unethical or not.

The Constitutions explicitly states the president or vice president can be impeached for treason. In so many words. So clearly, yes, it is legally possible for a president or VP to be a traitor.

But the only rule we have against expletives is please don't post them in thread titles in the main forum. No personal insults is very simple. What you're proposing just gets all confusing. So it's okay to insult someone as long as you don't use an expletive? If you don't think a word is an expletive but someone else does then can one person use it and the other one can't? Fuck all that. No personal insults.

Edit: We do have some other rules about expletives like don't post the N word. Which would be nice if we didn't have to make rules like that because you think people wouldn't post crap like that but oh well... They do so we do.

If I repeated a Chris Rock skit here and used the N word I'm being accurate. If I say Sinobas is the dumbest N word of all I'm being kinda racist but I thought he was white.

barf, I know you know, that is a piss poor analogy. Nixon ordering a break in and lying to everyone is a crime. Not the same in anyway as a President or his representive having discussions with foreign representative

Nixon himself did not order the break-in, so far as I know. What he did do was try to cover up the crime of his staff afterwards.
Which is pretty much the same as here, except that the break-in was done by a hostile foreign government, and Trump tried to reward them for doing it, in addition to covering it up.

But in any case neither the crime you put forth or the discussions are treason.

Smells a lot like treason, but if you want to call it conspiracy instead, that's ok with me.

Dems are winning in Alabama but their dead? :dunno:

Nearly lost to an assumed pedophile.

Jones is a lame duck in a state that can't wait for his term to end already. He may face an impeachment campaign soon, or just get paid to accomplish nothing.

Either way, a huge embarrassment for the dying Dems.

Which is pretty much the same as here, except that the break-in was done by Hillary Clinton, the DNC, a disgraced British spy, the FBI, and Loretta Lynch tried to excuse their crimes, in addition to covering it up.

Because of you white people. Good thing we saved those folks.

This says MUCH more about white Alabamians than it does Democrats. LOL.

I saw a clip of Sarah Huckabee today.

Trump really needs to hire me to be press secretary.

My standard answer would be "who gives a shit?"

Unfortunately Trump can't help himself

True, and yet helping himself is all Trump knows how to do. It's a conundrum wrapped in a taco bowl wrapped in Ivanka's bra.

Drizzled in a fascinating glaze of covfefe.

Whether you believe this was all meant to be off the record or that Steve Bannon is crazy and lying about everything, it's shocking he would make such a huge break with his 1%er friends. What was Bannon intending to do?!?!? And to just let this reporter sit around and overhear stuff if this wasn't intended to go public, I'm just blown away by the incompetence!

Yup we as in Black people. Black women specifically. Pissed you off so bad you started a whole thread about the shit.

If you lived in Alabama you would've voted for the pedophile too. I'd have voted for *Edit: Jones.

America can thank us for our service in making sure we don't hire pedophiles in the south.

Everybody was making a meme of Bannon and saying the worst things. Now people love him. Oh politics, you’re so great.

This is why I don’t fuck wth politics.

I don't love Bannon suddenly; he's still a monster, but if Trump invaded hell I would make at least a favourable reference to the devil in the House of Commons.

People dump dogs all the time. It infuriates me.

During the worst of the housing market in 07 people just left them in the back yards of houses to die.
Yeah. It is still a huge problem in the south. In the Florida panhandle, it is a normal thing to just drop unwanted dogs off in the forest or swamp. That's why my sister has 5 dogs. She just kept finding them out in the swamps during her wildlife fieldwork. It's fucking disgusting.
