what arguments are you talking about....we're actually discussing something of interest to the parties involved here...my stance is about the rights of sovereign nations....citing examples...if people don't vote...it's not because of this thread by any stretch and anyone can jump in anytime and discuss

I completely agree....I recommend Des Moines Iowa....see how many fat cats want to live there for a job....would also add to the economy of the Midwest bigtime....you'd have to really want to serve your country to move to Des Moines

So you have an opinion about the subject of the thread that we could actually read? I learned long ago that you need filters to follow politics...skip past the useless comments and engage those of substance. Some folks have no real take on daily news or the AP feeds we read...it's always going to be selective peppered with triggered crap

Lazy? No, not at all. But, if millennials like how things are going, then keep not voting. If millennials like 'you all people' making the decisions, then keep on not voting.

If millennials want things to get better, then they can either have a revolution or start voting. The latter is probably easier (just in case there are any lazy millennials). But it's a choice, as is doing nothing but complaining.

We were told 'you're too young to know any better' 'fall in line' 'you've only caucused once in your lifetime therefore you're not allowed to have a voice. Shut up and listen to mine.'
Very few of the younger generation even showed up to vote in the general. Refusal to 'choose the lesser of two evils'. Refusal to be talked down to/looked down apon by the DNC due to lack of age.
People who are pro-democatic party no matter what are the reason why Trump got 4 years, and mostlikely due to no change as of 7/19/18. Will get 8 years.

None of my posts have been complaining, they've been laughing at the idiots who believe the way to sway younger generations is by telling them how poor the other party is.
Until people like you, and others realize that will get you nowhere. Then you can enjoy the status quo and believing younger generations are lazy.
You as children/young adults weren't allowed to think for yourself.
You were told to be seen and not heard.
To listen to the adults and follow blindly.
Where as you allowed your children to figure things out for ones self. To think and not just be told.

Apparently the way to sway the younger generation is to instill some faux rage that causes apathy towards the whole system and keeps them from voting and participating in their own future. Well played you sure showed us all.

Well, I'm not telling you how to vote. Just to vote. If you think that's bad advice, then you don't have to take it.

Sooner or later (probably later) all us old farts are going to die, and then your generation will have to make decisions whether you want to or not.

If I were you I'd want to start early, rather than letting us run the thing into the ground for another 20 or 40 years. But, hey, your choice.

Why would either party risk empowering a generation they don't whom said generation will vote for?
Neither party knows how millennials will vote. So instead of taking that risk, they choose to attempt to disenfranchise young people until they know which side they stand on.
Simply because generally the older generations are going to vote red or blue regardless of candidate. As long as it's their party who wins it doesn't matter to them.

You see this all the time with jury selections.
Jurors who make it known they have the ability to think for themselves.
These jurors are generally dismissed in high volume by one side or the other.

Both the Republicans and Democrats alike want sheep.

I actually voted in the general. I've stated this many times on this OT section.
It just wasn't for your Queen. Nor was it for others Emperor.
But you, like others in the DNC won't listen to reason. It's your way or the highway.
Unfortunately how GenX raised Millennials... Your way or the highway doesn't work with people who where told. 'I expect you to think for yourself, and draw your own conclusions.'

I plan on living forever. I've got this theory and it involves large amounts of electricity from lightening. I've got a lab in my castle to experiment with. All I've got to work with are these bolts.
 
With our electoral system, we Do Not actually vote for a candidate. The popular vote is a side item. Bush proved it and I thought he was the worst of all Presidents during my lifetime. I knew about Trump since I live on the East coast and was Aware of his unstable narcistic personality. Any thing he says can be a lie that he considers truth. Our country actually has a unstable person at the helm and there is no mental test in place to determine if a president can handle stress. Whoever runs in the next election should be subject to independent professional evaluation because Trump has proven the Presidency is all about himself rather than the people.

The mental test is the campaign. Apparently there were millions of voters who couldn't see through this obvious lying, cheating, stealing, con man.

Can I prove what I'm about to say? Nope. Do I think it is possible. Yep.

Trump did way better early on in the states with open primaries. Won lots of them. Was it a real plan by the left to help Trump win knowing Hillary would beat him? Maybe.

There were mostly closed primaries towards the end but Trump looked like the winner by then.

SO...democrats are responsible for Trump because they rigged it for both candidates.

My diclaimer here is I'm not supporting the DNC with this post because I agree with you that they have a lot of issues and don't represent the people they are supposed to represent.

Your assertion that we don't know how millennials will vote is wrong though. Statistically speaking young people vote liberal in overwhelming numbers. That has always been the case. The DNC strategy has always been get the young people out to vote because it will always end up in their favor. I'm talking broad numbers, not you and your group of friends feelings on the subject. So by playing thet numbers it is a clear strategy by conservative think tanks to keep young people disengaged from the process, even though they have the most to gain from it.
 
I believe only 17 % of people under the age of 30 voted last election.....in my view it's reflective of the poor choices they were stuck with....I voted for Johnson but many candidates on the ballot never got any air time....want to change the landscape of campaigns...need to allow all candidates equal time in the debates and in TV coverage.....it's always just a dem republican shit show....young people probably don't know there are other parties to vote for...if ever there were an election reeking of apathy...it's the last one. Young people haven't really shown up at the polls since McGovern ran for office. Has nothing to do with parenting though...my children voted...it has more to do with entertainment obsession...there are video games to be played...reading and filling out a ballot are too much like homework for many lazy young folks. We need to take money out of the campaign process....a hard cap...equal money for all candidates elected by their parties...how many people even know who ran on the Libertarian party platform or Constitutional Party platform or even the Green Party platform...right...nobody...hence we get stuck with the spoiled gazillionaire choices that have big biz in their back pockets

Sometimes when the choices are poor you should still make a choice. Walking away from the country isn't an option (well, unless you are close to the border).

Have to disagree 100%
If the DNC really wanted young people to vote in the 2016 election. The candidate herself wouldn't have said. 'You're too young to know if my record' on TV.
The candidate wouldn't have told young people to do your own research.
The 'superdelegates' who engaged with young people over social media wouldn't have said. 'You've only caucused once in your lifetime, sorry if I don't listen to a word you have to say'.
This attitude is held by more than a few pro-blue supporters as well as pro-dnc.
At the end of the day both parties attempted to keep young people from voting last election. Generally it worked as well.
It's not just my group of friends. That assertion is asinine. Google would tell you that.

People of your generation, generally weren't allowed to challenge their parents way of thinking openly.
Where as people of my generation were encouraged to do so.
Which is the point I was making.

Perhaps you were allowed to do that, but that would be a special case.
As I know must get to know more than my fair share of 50-70 year olds due to my line of work. Generally speaking that was not allowed.
