Trump: U.S. Will Pay For Wall

It was very difficult to find a roofing company in Portland that would put in writing that they don't employ illegals. As a consumer you have to take some personal responsibility for the illegal problem in this country. Real Americans don't wait for the government to solve all their problems.

True! However, it does get a little hard to do without some help.
For instance;
The last house I built down in California, when I looked for a contractor to do the foundation, damned if I could find one fully on the clean side. Hell I had guys working there that it is a stretch to say they were speaking Spanish. Still had to wait a month to get the job started. So you do what you gotta do.
The regular guys leave for another state when the illegals take over and undercut the shit out of them.

surrender while your only slightly butt hurt!
I wasn't suggesting that. Just that a 2800 mile wall on a 3000 mike border might be enough to fulfill the promise.

I'm a realist. So what he said, and what is going to get done when talking about a 2000 mile border wall are two different things. So yes, I never thought it. I'll be pleasantly surprised if he does do it though.

Re: Mexicans -- Trump wants to erect a wall and to stamp out illegal immigration, that is what he is referring to in his talks about Mexico. Are you sofa king blind that you can't see this? How and in anyway is it okay for illegal immigrants to come here and leach off of hard working Americans? The wall is ludicrous because I don't think it would do anything, but harsher laws against illegal immigration is definitely something I want to get behind. I am in no way a support of people that come here and don't earn it the right way.
So, is the wall a ludicrous idea or not?

Kids, here's your new nanny. She's from England. Say hello to Miss Pissy Quibble.

Ludicrous idea in the literal sense of it. Because I don't think it'll be done, or can be done. BUT I'll be pleasantly surprised if it does happen to get done. I support illegal immigration reform and pissing down the throats of the liberals snowflakes.

Thanks for the stroll through memory lane, I am so happy you took the time to dig those up! :)

It was a pretty easy search. Sorry, to disappoint you.
Let me clarify, you did not disappoint. As I said, I appreciate the time you took, however little it was, to dig it up! /cheers

but a wall is just symbolic and not the type of symbolism I take pride in
Relax! There is literally no way the US could fall any more in the eyes of the world after electing Trump, so might as well go wild! Outsource NASA and have them put giant Golden Arches on the moon!

Probably apropos nothing.....we recently had our kitchen remodeled and hired one of the more reputable contractors in the PDX area. We had two very highly skilled carpenters. One was from the Ukraine and the other was from England. We had two tile setters who did an outstanding job. One was Latvian and the other was Mexican. The countertop guy was Russian. I can guarantee these guys were all legal immigrants. The only "Real" Americans actually doing labor were the plumber and the painters (and how hard really is the latter? Shit, I did it myself as a young man).

There's apparently a lot of "Real" Americans who either don't have the skills, aren't interested in acquiring them or just plain don't want to work a "real" job. That's on the the individual. You can blame the education system all you want (and I do to an extent. At least Oregon voters approved funding for trade schools etc in the last election, so we have that going for us) but I came out of the navy with skills that weren't particularly conducive to actually providing for a family. I scrambled to do whatever it took until I pushed hard enough and found someone to take a chance on me in a profession with some kind of future. And then I went to school in my "spare" time to improve my chances for advancement. In other words, I had some pride and gave a shit. Tell me that the current "Real" American in general is willing to do the same. They aren't. If they can't get the job they want for the wage they want they'd rather sit on their asses and take government money and blame everyone but themselves for their woes. Ive seen this with my own eyes and have heard it with my own ears too damn many times. And these are the folks that voted for Trump. They deserve what they are likely to get. Nothing. If anyone hasn't read "Hillbilly Elegy" by J.D. Vance, they really should. It certainly shows that there is two very distinct sides to this particular narrative. The majority of immigrants, legal or otherwise are willing to do the work "Real" Americans don't want to do, or don't want to learn how to do. From the standpoint of MY pocket book, I dont give two shits whether a craftsman is a legal OR illegal immigrant. As long as they are reliable, work safely and can do a good job, they're welcome to work for me anytime.

In the UK all the skilled craftsmen are Polish. Almost literally all of them.

And he admits now that the Russians hacked the election, trying to help him.

Are you seeing the pattern here yet?

Make it a felony to do business with illegals and the illegal problem is going to be greatly reduced.

Don't loan to, rent to, or employ them.

And don't shield them from deportation.

No, he does not.

"While Russia, China, other countries, outside groups and people are consistently trying to break through the cyber infrastructure of our governmental institutions, businesses and organizations, including the Democrat National Committee, there was absolutely no effect on the outcome of the election, including the fact that there was no tampering whatsoever with voting machines," Trump said in a statement after the meeting.

If Trump is what these guys say he is he'd just deny it completely anyway. Who's going to prove it, Clapper?
