I have spent a combined total of 2 years living in Mexico, 2 to 6 months at a time. Living on the beach in my RV and fishing was a great way to start my retirement years.

From my sauces, a lot of people in Mexico are upset with Trump, and the reason for my Mexico City reference.

Not sure what your experience is living in Mexico? But in my 2 years living there, I can only recall one Mexican person that did not like Americans. All he did was stay away from Americans; he never made it into an issue or problem for Americans.

I was treated like family in Mexico. I fell in love with the Mexican people. They are the most generous, kind, no-judgmental, hard working people. I am sad and embarrassed at the poor way we treat Mexican’s in our country. I could write several books on all of the acts of kindness I received while living in Mexico. I could not write one page on the Mexicans that did not like Americans.

I have no idea why so many Americans hate Mexicans? But it is time to stop the undeserved hated and prejudice.

As to unemployed young people in america...walk around Eugene and ask the kids with dreadlocks and cardboard signs to get up at 7 am to work in one of the local factories and they'll more than likely tell you to fuck off. My wife worked in one and out of hundreds of employees...there were less than 10 native born americans there and they had a high turnover rate. As far as the unemployed...many of them have existed with untaxable incomes while collecting food stamps and selling illegal consumables to folks here with jobs. It's not so simple as folks think. You can take LSD for 2 weeks, not bath or wash your clothes and apply for SSI and make 773 dollars a month, pay 163 a month for a pretty new condo sponsored by St Vincent de Paul foundation, get full medical coverage and watch fucking DVDs every day of your life here...what's the incentive to work? Hispanics are hard workers from what I've seen and are important to the labor force...though they should be documented. Is your american teenager going to pick cabbage in the heat at harvest time for minimum wage? I think Trump overestimates the subculture here.

And then it's not even half of a living wage. Nobody I know would pass up an honest job to scrape by on SSI and returning cans.

Since you know criminals in your area who are dealing drugs and cheating the government you should report them at once rather than continue to shield them from prosecution.

You're absolutely right about deserving folks, I just got off a 12 hour shift with a disabled man I care for twice a week. I should not generalize things that are just local observations I'm semi retired and dealt with a lot here working in public and it's undoubtedly left me jaded. I mean no offense to anyone

When he opened the refrigerator, all he had in there was one beer, and he was offering it to me. I told him I was on medication, and could not drink it.

If a Mexican stopped at your house to ask directions, would you even think about offering him a glass of water???

Its basically like me going to Disneyland to Hollywood Blvd while stopping to use the restroom at a Jack in the Box in El Monte and saying I experienced Los Angeles Culture. I just drove through Baja Norte, did not spend much time there. I have never visited San Philippe, it’s too touristy.

I disagree with your comparison of most small villages in Baja to being Disneyland’s. The towns that catered to tourists where Disneyland’s, most are large cities, with commercial airports to bring the tourists. I drove almost everywhere which got me away from the Disneyland’s.

Most small villages in Baja Sur do not cater to the tourist. Except for Cabo San Lucas, which is very touristy and not living a Mexican culture, I would call it Disneyland.

As far as Mexico City, if that is where you lived? Detroit, New Orleans and St. Louis all have higher murder rates than Mexico City.

Just because Detroit is a dangerous city, would you tell someone from another country to not visit the Grand Canyon or the beaches of Oregon? Or that the beaches of Oregon are not the true American experience?

Thanks for posting this Mags, this would be a far better policy than what we are currently doing. Trump may not be perfect but he is not afraid to be wrong, or say what a lot of our country feels. If people come here legally ok they would be welcome, and yes if need be we can adjust the rules for those that want to come here.
