RHP - Masahiro Tanaka (1-0, 229 ERA)

VS.

RHP - Kris Medlen (1-3, 6.85 ERA)

6 straight QS & In all 6 of Tanaka's starts the Yankees have scored 2 runs or less for him. Including no runs in his last start. He has to have the lowest run support in the league at 1.90 C'mon guys, give the man a break & give him some runs tonight.

Help Tank to boogie woogie and give Kansas City the Royal Flush. Time for Tex to cut the Drew/Headley act and produce.

And Girardi should start by dropping him in the order, but you know he won't.

Tonight's lineup........

LF - Gardner (240)
2B - Castro (296)
C - McCann (267)
DH - Beltran (245)
1B - Ackley (125)
CF - Hicks ( 136)
SS - Gregorius (217)
3B - Headley (171)
RF - Gamel (1000) ( 1 for 1)

You know I'd like to complain about putting a 125 hitter in the 5 spot but seriously........as weak as this team is, what are the alternatives?

Joe Girardi on Chase Headley: "This is not who he is. I'm going to be patient with him" as per Sweeney Murti. That's just lovely Joe. :biglaugh:

What he probably really wanted to say: yep, another individual on this team who consistently fails to live up to even his own miserable performance standards. Tact is defined as a manner of telling a person to go to hell in a manner that they'd enjoy the trip.

Your absolutely right Michael, He tries to be their friend instead of their manager. He should grow a set of balls and tell them you suck take a seat on the bench.

Yeah good idea Joe, NEWSFLASH! we're not 10-12 games into the season, we're 30 games in. The guy has ZERO extra base hits this season & hasn't driven in a run since the 3rd game over the season. and has only 2 RBI. How much more patient can you be?

He can't, he sold all his supplies to the ugly fat guy in Boston.

Angels acquired INF Brendan Ryan from the Nationals as per Alden Gonzalez. Oh Shit guys we missed an excellent opportunity to boost our bench. :rotfl:

This is one of the reasons why I wouldn't lose any sleep if the Yanks choose to clean house and INCLUDE Girardi (along with Cashman).
I have given Cashman a pass the last two years...it's no secret- but imo, Girardi should've also been on the hot seat these last couple of seasons. He doesn't get a free ride with me just because the Yanks have a couple of big contracts to a couple of old players.
It's for reasons such as the Headley situation and similiar....Girardi should just bench his ass a bit more often in favor of someone who is showing more signs of life.
Eventually Headley will have enough opportunity to "get going"...if he ever will.
Girardi also seems to have eliminated the possibility of the Yanks putting runners in motion in order to stay out of double plays, scew up the shifts, or "forcing" a Yankee batter to concentrate on making contact.
This is not exactly asking for the moon for ML hitters..

Some say the Yanks "don't have the players" and "they strike out too much" to use the hit-and-run or sac bunt.
I say this is horseshit - no reason why certain players on any team shouldn't be asked to hit and run a couple/few times during the season.....and you can make it much easier on everyone by doing it with less than two strikes.

He also is counter productive in helping his SP grow a pair of balls!

What the hell, lets get the band back together, Where's Capuano?

Crapuano is now with the Brewers, damn look at that crowd, looks like Tropicana North.

They just mentioned that Teixeira was out of the lineup because he was suffering from neck spasms. Is ANYONE really buying this? Because I'm sure that he's 4 for his last 37 has nothing to do with it.

HOLY SHIT! Headley just drove in a run, it's his first RBI since April 7th & only his 3rd on the season.

Shaping up as one of those battle of the bullpen games.
Neither SP is sharp. It'll be disappointing if the Yanks can't get a couple more runs off KC crappy SP.
And they DO have crappy SP.
