Politics Turning GA, NC, NV, and/or PA into victory (Biden vs Trump, 2020 election!) (1 Viewer)

Interestingly, Barack's half-brother still challenges Barack's birthplace. A dead horse by now, but still interesting....especially interesting that Malik is a staunch (and 2020) Trump supporter.

He is a staunch supporter. I’m not gonna go into the weeds with the birther stuff. I would suppose being shunned by his brother possibly grew some vitriol?

In other words. The rich overfeed bad diet countries are having a worse time with this virus than the poor underfeed or healthy eating countries. There are a few exceptions, but not many.

This same theory may apply within a country's population. But I'm done for the day grinding numbers.

The data within the US states does not seem to correlate with this theory

https://www.cdc.gov/obesity/data/prevalence-maps.html

Could not find any mention of C-19, let alone any two links where a comparison of obesity and C-19 can be made.

I made the connection myself. We know where the high death rates are in the US, this resource shows that the epicenter in the US (NY area) does not correlate with obesity levels in the US.

NY has 97 deaths per 100K residents, and obesity rate of 25-30%
CA has 3 deaths per 100K residents, the same obesity rate as NY
ND has 2 deaths per 100K residents, obesity rate >35%
IA has 3 deaths per 100K residents, obesity rate > 35%

One would assume that obese people have a compromised immune system(*) - which could lead them to higher death rate - but the issue here is the health and effectiveness of the immune system, and it does not matter if it is compromised because of age, obesity, smoking or genetic reasons.

FWIW - Italy has high death rates, but it is one of the lowest obesity countries in Europe. On the other hand, it has a large elder population - which is why the death rate there was/is so high

jealous of his fame. He probably pushes carts at Dierbergs

They don’t look anything alike. Maybe he’s jealous that Barack got the lighter skin gene?

Does this make sense to compute before the pandemic is over? CA and NY are further along on the curve than IA and ND, so presumably they'd have more deaths per capita for that reason - IA and ND might catch up or pass them eventually.

About as much as it makes sense to make the claim that the US has more cases than South Korea because of obesity levels.

There is a lot that is not known - and I think you are correct in making this statement - my statement was in response to the correlation presented by your sea-faring compatriot - showing that there is just as much data that contradict this theory as there is data that confirms it.

Ya never know. At any rate, it would be mighty interesting if Joe asks and Michelle accepts. Probably about a 5% chance of that happening, though.
I personally would be surprised if she accepted actually. There’s too much uncertainty right now and getting in isn’t a guarantee. I suspect if she wants to come into politics, she will do it in 2024-25. Even then, I would think she maybe seeking a senate seat first.

Yeah, I think there's essentially a 0% chance she'd accept, which Biden would know before officially offering.

I think it'll be Kamala Harris or Amy Klobuchar. Probably Klobuchar, for more strength in the Midwest battleground states.

I wonder. Both of them make sense, but something tells me there is a dark* horse** we aren't seeing.

I think Amy would be an excellent VP running mate for Biden.

Dark? So you're thinking Stacey Abrams.

Oh.

I'm still thinking Klobuchar, Harris, or Val Demings...Demings, among other things, would possibly help flip Florida for Biden...just my 2 cents.

Full text on the new bill. Just passed the Senate and most likely will pass the house. It’s at $500 billion.

The Senate on Tuesday passed a nearly $500 billion coronavirus "Phase 3.5" relief bill that would replenish a small business rescue program known as the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), provide hospitals with another $75 billion and implement a nationwide virus testing program to facilitate reopening the economy.

The new deal would provide more than $300 billion for the PPP, with $60 billion or so set aside -- and divided equally -- for smaller banks and community lenders that seek to focus on under-banked neighborhoods and rural areas. Another $60 billion would be available for a small-business loans and grants program delivered through an existing small-business disaster aid program, $10 billion of which would come in the form of direct grants.

The agreement would also contain $75 billion more to hospitals and health care providers, as well as "$25 billion for state-led COVID-19 testing plans and for research, development and other testing support from key agencies such as the CDC [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] and the NIH [National Institutes of Health]," McConnell said.

The best part is that either way, I win.
Let's make it dinner and drinks so we can socialize during dinner with our two wives present. I think that was your original suggestion and I think it was a good one.
I'd feel the same way about a bet with Mags. I would win either way the bet went.

We'll be fine. I mean, you could always be out with Mr. & Mrs. @THE HCP . Wonder how that might go....

Talk about timely. A report on a study was just released. The short version. Age is the #1 risk factor for those with C-19. #2 was obesity, ahead of heart conditions and diabetes.

The theory is. Obesity causes lower oxygen levels in the blood, because of the larger body mass. Obesity also causes chronic inflammation in the body. This is a double whammy for those with C-19, regardless of age.

The Daily Herald made the report public today. The study was led by Christopher Petrilli. If someone posts the link, I would appreciate it. I do not know how from my cell phone. Or Google coronavirus obesity.

They should have at least one debate in Duhh Moines.
