I'm not talking about strictly using all of those picks to draft and keep players, I'm only talking about flexibility and giving themselves multiple options -- The more moves you have on the proverbial "chessboard" the better.
in April 2013 (17 months from now), what are you going to have for Gerald Wallace?
A) Nothing.
B) Four first-round picks(or whatever they would bring) from the deepest draft in a decade.

I'm just a lot more skeptical about the value of draft picks, perhaps. Unless they're top-five or maybe top-ten, I don't think they have a ton of value as trade assets (except, perhaps, in a situation where a desperate team is trying to unload a star before he bolts and thinks "draft picks" are a face-saving return allowing them to sell their future to fans).
If there was ever a draft to have multiple #1s, it's this one!
My reasoning? Mine actually makes sense You say we get 4 first rounders from the same draft. I see twitter saying NJ offered up 2012, 14, 16 and Houston lotto protected 12. So you can't parade it as getting 4 picks in 2012. Very likely we get 1 pick in this draft from that trade, NJ's. And the option isn't that or nothing.
Yeah if you have a top 10 pick
You're saying that you don't think there's one player from 11 onward that can help our team? You're saying that you don't think there's one player from 11 onward that can help our team?

You didn't read MM's post. I believe his pizza boy.Never saw orlando's mentioned, except by you, which seems just stupid on theface of it
Now you're projecting...has anything come out about why they're keeping him? Something like "those 4 picks were too much to give up?" Everything I read made it sound like they just pulled him off the table...didn't want to entertain ANY offer for him. That'll change, I'm sure.Well, we didn't get a premium, because orlando didn't want him at the cost of 4 draft picks
Thought MM's pizza boy said GS. And said them as a 4th team, not us getting Orlando's pick.
Sorry, yes, Orlando did not say it was thepicks over Wallace.
