I think the anger coming from MM's statement is it tends to cheapen what this topic is about. We go from a topic of HIV breakthroughs to talking about people with Parkinsons or Alzheimer or whatever.

To say "hey that's great but many brought it upon themselves so would rather read about world peace" (or whatever) is basically saying who gives a shit about the HIV breakthrough. I don't know if that was the message MM was trying to get across but I don't see how people can't see that is how it would come across to many . . . especially those who have been impacted by the virus.

one of the most interesting parts, as I stated earlier is if this proves out in humans, we could be onto a whole new way to design vaccines for diseases that were once illusive. Right now there is an outbreak of MERS which is threatening to spread, a new strain of gonorrhea which is incurable, and other infectious diseases and pathogens which threaten all our lives routinely. An entire new way to attack these diseases could be a boon to global health. I'm so excited to see where this research leads.
