Down to 135, which is not terrible (I'm 5'6") but another ten pounds and I can wear my skinny clothes.

Sadly at age when everything heads south. A young person loses weight, skin springs back. I have no more spring, or summer or autumn. Legs still passable in tights or leggings but no way would I wear shorts in public. No amount of weight lifting will eliminate underarm sag. Most women carry weight in hips and thighs, I carry mine at the waist. My midsection makes me miss old fashioned girdle. Underwire bra helps. Mine pretty worn. Some day I will have to spend a weary day buying new. Clothes shopping, especially underclothes, is one of those things that make me wonder if the cat box needs cleaning instead.

I have no experience bra shopping, but every home that has a cat box I have been to thought me that, yeah, the cat litter box needs to be cleaned.

Btw, anyone who is upset about AI slop, I would point to this thread where we started with a medical condition and arrived to feline feces… - AI slop doesn’t seem so out of place now, does it?

You went with the Grey with color tiles? Should have gotten the all black. My daughter got one and am disappointed the musicians I see do not have something similar.
My daughter got me this for Christmas. Cracks me up. She begged me to wear it to work and share it on social media. Thought this was the perfect chance.

I have wide feet as well and it's usually pretty hard to find them in retail store for men as well.

Since I am not exactly a fashion icon, I don't have an issue with buying online. For years I have been, unabashedly going the New Balance way as my daily drivers, comfortable and available in 11.5 wide. (Sorry, sneakerheads)

I have recently developed plantar faciatis in my right foot, so have started wearing Oofos for recovery, luckily also available in 11.5 - they are ugly, but I don't care. I can resume normal activities with minimum consequences...

Sneakers are easy. I buy men's. They are wider than women's of same size. But sometimes I need more formal shoes. There is a store in North Berkeley, Walk Shop. Not cheap but loads of options. Unfortunately since pandemic they cut down stock and lost time I went there almost nothing for wide feet.

I have also had issues with plantar faciatis and New Balance helped. But Hokas were a game changer.

Also, wearing Crocs inside the house rather than going bearfoot.

As I said, I went all Oofos, I wear their Stride sneakers as my daily driver for the outside and their clogs around the house. But, I might have a more extreme case of plantar faciatis than most - I really did tear quite a bit there (side effects of all the walking, running, use of weight jacket that I do and frankly, age, I am closer to 60 than 50 and my body is letting me know it). I am good at doing things proper when I mess up my body. You should see my rotator cuff tear, my Doctor was impressed...

The time I spend on PT "homework" is almost like another exercise session per day.

Sorry for hijacking your thread @THE HCP , keep on doing what you are doing!

New balance has made a comeback. They have really cool skater style shoes nowadays. The white sneakers that are total dad shoes are the ones that get made fun of.....

I had Plantar Fasciitis in my 20s. Surprisingly, some skater shoes also were perfect for that condition. Was able to walk around without pain because there was enough support.

I find that recovery with age just takes a lot longer. I have shattered my ankle in my early 20s (as in, surgery to bond lots of pieces and cleanup of lots of stuff) and was running after 6 months or so - which is crazy. I had so many sprains and other stuff from sports - and usually recovered very quickly. I broke my foot about 10 years ago and within 2-3 months - was running again. But, the rotator cuff tear I had now for almost a year - and without surgery (which I really want to avoid) my Doctor suspect at least another year of PT for recovery, the Plantar Fasciitis timetable I was given is about 18 more months (to be fair, it's harder to fix these than bones). But, such is life...

Yeah man. PF sucks. Rubbing a cold soda can back and forth on it helped. Do you use the socks that stretch the bottom of your foot while you sleep?

I'm not in your age range yet but definitely feel like my body doesn't bounce back anymore.

I can't sleep in those, I tried. I use them in the evening before I go to bed - and they certainly help.

Here is a hint for you guys with PF. Lay a kitchen towel on the floor in front of you. Slowly pull the towel towards you by curling your toes. Will strengthen the muscles that cause it.

So, so sad…..

I’ll stop you right there…… Sneakers go with everything FAMS!

Hit that scale this morning before our flight out of town. 255lbs FAMS!!!
Has to be my first time in the 250s, easily since I was in my mid 20s……
Shared my journey, kinda’, on social media for the first time today, besides with you guys here.

Congrats! Keep it up. Long term healthy lifestyle changes.

Got a Hume scale for Christmas. Measures a ton of details about body fat and muscle mass, metabolic activity, hydration, visceral fat, muscle imbalances.

It's really interesting. I actually don't pay any attention to weight but all the other data is helpful. I also have a pixel watch (has Fitbit)
