I'm dealing with plantar fasciitis for the past 8 months and it sucks. But its finally now getting a little bit better.

These have helped me the most of everything I've tried... with Brooks shoes and any other shoe I wear... been wearing them 100% when I am not at home.

the key is a shoe/arch support that keeps your foot from flexing in the middle... and of course good cushioning on the heel
and I wear cork sole slippers when at home.
never ever go barefoot anymore.
lots of calf stretches and massages
use a heating pad on my foot first thing in the morning

Brooks shoes have been my favorite when running and just walking around. Their designs have gotten better than they were 20 years ago.

Nike has cool designs but their running shoes are bad.

Embrace the dad shoe era!

Brooks will outlast Nike, sorry to say. I have wide feet and Nike's run narrow.
Brooks are very comfortable.
Just bought my first pair of Skechers slip ons, they have wide and extra wide. Not bad for casual wear.

My wife had horrible plantar fasciitis. Finally, a year later ended up getting two steroid shots in her heel. Hurt like hell, but fixed it pronto.

I am old (60). Not as old as some of you fucks, but old. I have type 2. I did not take it seriously, and because of that I have neuropathy in my feet pretty bad. Nothing helps. With my other shit, working out is a bit tough, but I did start doing tai chi. I slimmed down slightly, but what it has done more than that is increase blood flow. Slightly better feeling in feet.

Take care of yourself and continue getting in shape

Hit that scale this morning before our flight out of town. 255lbs FAMS!!!
Has to be my first time in the 250s, easily since I was in my mid 20s……
Shared my journey, kinda’, on social media for the first time today, besides with you guys here.

Nice work!!

:smiley-beerchug:

Good for you brother. Curious how you changed, if you changed your diet? I can safely say that my loss of of weight is pretty much all dietary. Just now starting to mix in exercise. It’s obvious, but I didn’t realize the fuel you are giving your body, good or bad is what it’s all about. I’m no expert, but I wish that had dawned on me sooner.

As my electrophysiologist told me when my AFib was ramping up and he wanted me to lose weight, it wasn't so MUCH how much I was eating, it was WHAT I was eating. When I started making better choices, the weight started to come off. When I threw in a morning walk, it got even better. And now that I am better about keeping more active, I can afford to "cheat" every now and again as a reward. That shit tastes so much better when you have had to earn it and you don't get it very often......
