I'm digging it thus far, feels like it moves more fluidly than last years. Anyone else pick it up? If so, thoughts?

I canceled my pre-order. I'm going to wait and see and I'll decide by Friday if I want it or not. I'll be closely watching sherdog's video game forum, ign, and a few other sites.

If you liked last years, I'd recommend getting it. They expanded the career mode to 12 seasons (from 7), and it's significantly harder too. Stats deteriorate if you don't train on them, so you have to actually make sure you're giving everything proper training, otherwise you'll have stats sitting at 0. I also enjoy the added difficulty, because I usually dominate sports games too easily, and I'm struggling with this one on the 2nd lowest difficulty. I believe I'm 12-5 so far in my career, I haven't gotten close to a title shot, and I've been forced to submit in 4 of those 5 losses.

Speaking of submissions, I'm probably just retarded or my guys submission defense isn't high enough yet, but I suck at preventing and getting out of submissions. If my opponent goes for a submission, I'm boned. Again, I probably just don't have my submission defense high enough, but fuck, lol.

I also think they tidied up the controls a bit too, they seem to work better this year. The main issue I have with them is it's still too damn hard to escape a ground or clinch position, but I guess that's relatively realistic. I just hate spending an entire fucking match on my back because I can't fucking block a takedown.

Other then those gripes, I'm loving the game. It's fun and insanely challenging, which I'm not used to in sports or fighting games of any type. And hell, those gripes could go away the further I progress in my career. I'm only in year 3, so my guy still has a ways to go.
