and yes, given that, announcing his retirement is honorable and right. By not prolonging
the inevitable, (it) opens the gates for the Yankee youth movement. Must be tough but I
give him credit. Besides I am sure he saw the writing on the wall....unlike A-Roid!
I have been on him for a while now...........more for some remarks he's made and for
his horrible plate appearances by grounding out into that batter's shift.

I was going to rant on him for being soft and sitting out again. I respect him more now for knowing when it's time to hang it up.

At one time I viewed him as a future HOFer, but he's been in steady decline for several years now.
