I think Putin has them thinking they are fighting for their survival and its their last stand.

Russia is doing fine, thanks to us. Our sanctions did nothing but remove our own poisonous fast food and other harmful products from their people. Big loss lol. They are still importing gas to all the same countries, only now it goes through more middlemen nations and commands a higher price so they are making even more money. They are becoming allies with the most powerful countries on the planet (China) who actively plan for the future while our dinosaur politicians are still just blindly trying to loot a burning ship. Multiple countries are banding together to reject the dollar which will topple our fragile empire sooner than later. Been outside lately? Our cities look like Michael Jacksons Thriller video and we think we have some sort of moral authority over anyone else, which is laughable. We’re the Clampetts with a violence problem trying to judge others in the neighborhood. Ukraine is essentially a shell corp. for this American corruption and laundering and their used car salesmen of a leader takes a cut. There are a TON of bad things to say about Putin too, but at least he didn’t interrupt the Grammys to beg me for money.

The sanctions weren't intended to harm russian citizens. They were mostly intended to harm the oligarchs, from what I can tell. Which they did.

We can choose to fix all of our problems whenever we want. Unfortunately that will require either progressive policies (improving access to education and healthcare) that you don't seem support, or authoritarian policies that I don't support.

Since when is helping somebody defend their home "judging"? And I don't know what interruption you're talking about. I don't watch that garbage.

No big news today. Battles continue along the entire front.

However, Ukraine has not only halted Russia's big northern push. Ukraine is taking back small areas of land they lost.

Drone warfare is very rapidly evolving. Ukraine now has special drone/artillery units so good, they are compared to special op units. They completely dominate the areas these units operate in.

Also, Ukraine technology has incorporated AI into hunter killer drones. They now can id tanks, and take them out. Scary stuff for the Russians on the front.

You have to love it when Putin cites "The West"....as if it includes every country outside of Siberia...last time I looked, S Korea, Japan and many allies are actually "East" of Russia

When your neighbor bombs your home and workplace...kills your power grid and rapes and kills your family it's hardly time to become Ghandi or just surrender. Most people aren't built that way. Choices. If you've ever experienced a real war....the "play" analogy is pretty far from reality. It's not a video game.
 
Anton is some time advisor to the president. He doesn't seem so optimistic today but I think he still has faith in Ukrainian victory. Ukraine yesterday knocked out a russian tugboat with sea drones and 3 oil refineries with air drones. They continue to knock out russian artillery systems at a rate of 30-50 a day, which is really an incredible feat.

Regarding Putin's yesterday's interview:
He expects a long war. Judging by his speech, his cognitive functions are not impaired and he expects to rule for many years.
My conclusion is that he feels super confident. He has a strategy. And he believes that Ukraine and its allies have no strategy.
Putin realizes that there is a war of attrition. And he's ready for it.
Putin is sure he is beyond punishment: occupied Crimea, shot down Boeing MH17, war crimes in Ukraine, Bucha, Mariupol, murdered Nemtsov and Navalny, and so much more. But Putin continues to be dialogued with, interviewed. He has allies, trade with Russia continues.
All this tells the criminal that he can move on. That none of the democratic countries can or will really stand up to him - a dictator with nuclear weapons.
Russian bombs are exploding in Ukrainian cities, in the center of Europe. In the city of millions, Kharkiv, children study in underground schools. The world has accepted this as something routine. The war in Ukraine has moved to the background, although it is very close and the price of a quiet life in Europe is paid by Ukrainian soldiers.
I feel very uncertain about the future of not just my country, but the world as a whole.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people who support the AFU are the only real force holding back this monster and mad Russia.
 
You fools may be about to get your wish. All for a region of Ukraine that wanted to join with Russia anyway.
