Isn't it funny, how I'm here, saying let's not start WW3, and that's controversial?

Crazy that a country would put armed forces near civilians to help defend them after an invasive force directly attacked and has literally raped, tortured, and murdered the civilians for 2 years...

Russia is starting it. Ukraine is defending themselves.

Russia doesn't want WW3 any more than we do. And we don't need Nukes to defeat Russia.

Simply calling Russia's bluff. If they start WW3 because we won't let them rape and torture innocence without supporting the defense of that innocence then WW3 is already here.
 
So North Korea announced they are sending troops to Ukraine. A second country actively fighting in Ukraine is a huge escalation that should be met with strong consequences from NATO

I mean, they're sending a military engineering unit rather that actual combat troops, but still it's not great. I might suggest that the rockets, missiles, and millions of rounds of ammunition that North Korea has provided Russia is more problematic than them sending over their version of SeaBees.

Ukraine and EU signed an agreement on security guarantees: €50 billion for the next 4 years.

18 countries have joined the Czech [ammo] initiative and the first deliveries, funded by Germany, have already arrived in Ukraine.

Agreements on security guarantees were signed with Lithuania and Estonia.

The news on the Patriots is really good, even though I'm sure it will take a year to bring them in and train Ukrainians to operate. With these 8 added to six already have or promised, they should have enough to protect most of their cities and with a few left over to move along the front lines looking for russia fighter bombers to knock down.

According to a well-regarded Ukrainian correspondent who writes under the pseudonym “Nikolaev Vanek,” the 83rd Airborne Brigade has retreated from Vovchansk after a costly three-week deployment.


“The entire 83rd Airborne Brigade is urgently withdrawn to the rear to restore combat capability,” Vanek wrote. “There are too many casualties, they can't fight, there are too many 500s.”

In Russian military parlance, a “code 500” is a soldier who refuses to fight.

If confirmed, it’s a stinging loss for the new Russian northern grouping of forces, which includes around seven regiments and brigades. And Russian losses in Vovchansk could get a lot worse, as the survivors of an entire battalion—that’s hundreds of troops—have been trapped in a chemical plant in central Vovchansk for two weeks.

Do not underestimate the combat capabilities of engineering units. In most, if not all, military units. The engineers wear many hats. Think of them this way.

They are often given the most difficult job of fighting their way to the front lines. Then punching a hole so the regular assault troops can pour through. While protecting their flanks.

Engineering units often have very capable experienced combat leaders and are held in high regards by other units.

Example, the French foreign legion. During parades, it is the engineering units that are given the honor of leading the parade. Just as in the battle, they are the point of the spear.

Some of you may find this short video interesting. The French Foreign Legion unit leading the parade is their combat engineering unit.

They wear a leather apron, and carry a sledge hammer as a symbol of their early years battles. Their job was to knock down the doors of castles, so the other troops could enter.

You will also notice they are older, and more experienced than the other units. Plus, out of respect, they are allowed to wear beards.

What dies he think about the F-16s? Will they force the russian planes to launch their glide bombs from a little further away?

I do not remember him ever covering this question. Did a little research, and the answer gets very messy.

In theory, the answer should be yes,,, because...

Russia's glide bombs range is about 70km, ? let me know if any of my numbers are off. Some varients of the AIM-120 AMRAAM air to air missile have a range of 100 to 180 km. But...

How close to the border/front lines, will it be safe for F-16s to fly? Combine this with how far into Russia will Ukraine be allowed to fire USA made missiles? Which range varients of the AIM-120 AMRAAM does Ukraine recieve?

I don't have a clue to the answer to your question.

Yeh, I haven't seen much on it either. The West may have reasons for not wanting to talk about it.
 
It's interesting that if you google "Russia losses" or "Ukraine Losses" 9 out of 10 articles are about how Russia is taking heavy casualties. If you were to go by mainstream American news, you might think Ukraine is winning this conflict. (which is the impression many of you seem to have).

Just please take it as a learning opportunity when you find out you've been deceived, and start questioning your sources of information.

Ukraine is swiftly recapturing lost land. Not only have the attacks taken back larger areas of land. This is happening in several different areas.


I would not call these gains a major breakthrough. But these are the best results in the past year.

Guess giving Ukraine ammo and weapons helps.
