I chose the 2nd option. I had to stop my job because I moved back to the UK... None of the options really apply to me, because I didn't change the job for another.

Not me. I hate to work, because I'm remarkably lazy. I'll hold down a job so long as I have one, but if I were to lose the job due to the economic down-turn, I'm okay with being unemployed for a while (sabbatical, let's call it) and fairly confident that I can get work long before I need it.

Being possessed of no children is what allows me to take such a laid-back approach, of course.

I actually left on good terms and have done some contract work for them since then. I had been there six years, though, and that's a long long time in interactive media time

At the same job 3 years, and like it, after 6 years working at place that absolutely crossed the line into abusive, interspersed with periods of unemployment.

But...if the hostile takeover happens, there is about a 50% chance I would be unemployed within a year. Loss of income, health, retirement, like so many others. And very hard time finding new work.

So, OK but nervous would sum up my situation.

I have a friend that's failed the California Bar once and the Oregon bar twice. He's going for the Washington exam in July because it's supposed to be easier?

The California bar exam is the second-hardest in the nation, due to the number of subjects. I believe only the New York exam has more subjects.

Yeah, but the additional subjects on the NY exam are Home Ec and Auto Shop.

Yeah, but who wants to fail a bar exam because they lost points on an essay question about Home Ec? You still have to spend time understanding those subjects backward and forward.

Sample Home Ec essay question on the bar exam:

My job is considered part time like 25 - 35 hours a week but it keeps me busy with events going on.

I have a grocery store job while i'm in college, graduating in a couple weeks though, gonna transfer to a portland grocery store so I at least have something until I can find an accounting job
