Earl Watson and Mo Williams have decided they want to change numbers. Mo is now No. 25 and Earl's number is TBD.

Oooh! that's cool to hear. It calms down everyone who was freaking for Roy.

I think Earl Watson should take #7 just to set everyone off again.

Where is the uproar over #25 being taken? It should have just as good of a chance of getting retired as #7 (which means a decent chance but not a great chance for either).

This can only mean that Roy has had some sort of secret knee treatment and is signing to play for the Blazers!

Welcome back #7! We've missed you!

So dumb if it's because people were complaining about it being roys number.

I am not saying (and I don't think) that was the only reason. I know Mo wore #25 most of his career and prefers it. I am sure money changed hands. I think there was some backlash about #7 though that pushed the deal to go through.

Better archive those pictures of Mo holding his #7 jersey!

Hmm I wonder how much Earl pockets from the deal?

I think its one of those things where a number is so not important at all if even a small group get upside from it better to let them have their way and pick a fight over something else. No sense in Mo having to answer a bunch of stupid questions on it all year.

Thankfully the Blazers aren't retiring Roy's number that would be stupid.

Shockingly, it may be that Mo really wanted 2 or 5 or 25, and worked out a deal with Earl to get the number he wanted, disregarding Roy's 7 entirely.

We're saved! We're saved!

But how is Mo going to explain this to his young, disillusioned son, and his dream of a uniform number honoring his family? Will he ever be able to trust again?

Wonder if somebody informed him that #7 will be retired this year?
