Get ready for MEYERS MANIA!

I’ve actually heard National People say Brad Stevens isn’t liked among his peers very much because they feel like he didn’t have to work his way up the way others did and how quickly he has had success. This was a radio interview on one of The morning ESPN guys shows a couple months ago.
Highly talented people rise to the top quickly.

There's a lot to be said for 'working your way up', but elite talent can skip a few steps.

Also, it's not hard to standout when the majority of your peers suck ass. Maybe if his peers knew a thing or two about coaching Brad would blend in with those around him, rather than sticking out as exceptional.

Dennis Schroder is a worse fit for OKC than Carmelo was.

...but even if so, this will matter less. Carmelo had enough clout that the coach had to go along with his insistence on always starting. Schroder can be benched with zero repercussions. Schroder's a lot like Reggie Jackson - he's just there in case Westbrook misses a few games.

But Melo had one year left, Schröder has three.

Blazers have an injury riddled season and miss the playoffs. Then get a master stroke of luck and get the #1 pick in the draft.

Then in a wildly crazy turn of events instead of choosing SF Nassir Little from North Carolina the Blazers go with the wild possibility of greatness and go for Oregon Duck center Bol Bol.
When training camp starts Bol Bol immediately starts to complain of severe knee pain and is forced to undergo surgery missing his first year and possibly ending his career.

You did say unpopular right?
Who wouldve thought they wouldve had the choice of both at 25?

There were some pretty good predictions in this thread!
Some pretty bad ones too, of course.

Here’s my topical one -
Toronto will be worse with Leonard then they were with DeRozan.
The Spurs will make DeRozan even better.
Here is my faulty logic. Leonard played for a coach that could hide Leonard’s weaknesses, both off and on the court. The flip side is, Pop will figure out what DeRozan wants to do and is good at, and will play to his strengths.

:biglaugh:

76ers will make the Eastern conference finals.

Celtics will beat the Warriors in the finals

Blazers will finish with 53 wins and make the 2nd rnd

Lakers will make the playoffs in 7th place with a tie breaker keeping them out of 8th

Celtics will finish with a better record than the warriors and therefore have homecourt advantage in the finals

Lebron will regret going to Los Angeles and publicly say Portland was his 2nd choice

Meyers Leonard will have his best season as a Blazer
