Oh ok. Well strangely enough we are somewhat in agreement. I don't know how bad a mess Obama inherited, but that doesn't give him a free pass when it comes to the current state of the US economics.

FWIW-I don't find the economy to be as dire as this board (and some reports posted) make it out to be, so I'm not up in arms with Obama over the economy as others seem to be.
 
With ~50M people on food stamps, there sure are a lot of people hurting out there. I don't expect they could afford Internet or to spend time posting on S2.

The house I put 25% down payment on in 2004 is so underwater it'd cost me $75K to sell it. I thought I was doing the right things. I never missed a mortgage payment (never late), had better than 80% LTV, etc. Enough of my neighbors bailed on their homes and drove down the prices of everything in the neighborhood.

When the president gets $1.2T (half of TARP, $800B stimulus) to spend, he didn't spend it in any way that helped me. Instead, the bank I pay my mortgage to got $billions and ended up buying Merrill Lynch and some other banks.

And the Debt he's run up is going to cause us some serious pain. It's not a matter of "if" but "when." It's not going to be pretty. I don't see any way the govt. can make the interest payments and keep its other obligations without raising taxes so much the people will revolt. I'm not talking about a 3% hike on the rich, but something like to 80% for EVERYONE.

It's amazing that some truck drivers have become so pathetic that they think me keeping my earned money, while he pays no income tax, is a government cost.

Fyi... Obama extended those tax cuts.

It was actually way before he took office.

Real Estate was totally dead in the water by January 2007. Started recovering in early 2009 and has climbed fairly steadily since then.

Hilarious. You can't even spell correctly while trying to attack my education. I love it. I must have missed the "politics" class.

I do admire your lack of self awareness as you show your true level of understanding while not being embarrassed about it.
 
I will be the first to admit that The HCP does not follow politics closely. I know I should, but I never have. Does it really matter who our president is? Does it affect us that much? Doesn't Congress and other departments have more of a say on things. I'm making exactly what I was 4 years ago. I still have to pay for my family's health insurance every month out of pocket. I served my country and voted for Obama. I think it's interesting how the left and right are so against the other side.

I'm The HCP and I approve of this message......... FAMS!

You'd think with that fancy degree from Stanford you'd be out making a difference in the world instead of getting in petty back and forth with low life truck drivers.

That might explain why you're always so angry though.

.....He went along with the policy of encouraging banks to give mortgage loans to people who could not afford them, which caused the real estate market to rise to an unsustainable level, then when it collapsed, he went along with the bailout plan which is costing almost $ 1 trillion in new deficit spending.

Bush inherited, by his own admission, a good economy, a surplus, and peace. He quickly talked us into a recession to get his tax cuts for the rich and to abolish the inheritance tax. He gave the 'little people' some checks to shut them up and the surplus was no more.

A Stanford degree should be able to decipher a spelling error with a grammatical error...Guess instead of drinking the Neo-Con koolaid in Palo Alto he should have been paying attention to the little things.

But seriously, you know an argument is going nowhere on the internet when you try to bash another person for an honest grammatical error that they overlooked. I guess thats easier than staring facts straight in the face.
