1) Well right now I'd say Mitch Kupchack after getting Gasol for bummski.
2)

1. Pharoahe Monch - It's not even close. NOBODY is as skilled as he is. I challenge anyone to name someone comparable.
2. One Be Lo - Deep, and thought provoking. He's able to tell a story while including the right mix of emotion to be effective.
3. Vast Aire - His lyrics might be an acquired taste, although he's not as abstract as MF Doom, for example. He's gritty, he's raw, and he's an absolute genius when it comes to describing depression and despair. "The Cold Vein" is one of the greatest albums ever made.
4. GZA - The Genius is by far the most skilled of the Wu-Tang Clan, and is influence is easily seen in his desciple Masta Killa. He blends realism with abstract imagery in phrasing that's intellectually stimulating. Liquid Swords is regarded as the greatest Wu-Tang solo cd ever for a reason, while you're on your 2nd straight listen through it, pay attention to my favorite: "Swordsman."
5. Talib Kweli - I hated rap while I was growing up; a shame since that was the golden era. Everything changed when a buddy of mine gave me "Quality" to listen to. Then I found Reflection Eternal, and then Blackstar. We're talking genre defining words, messages, and themes. Had you asked me this a couple years ago Kweli would be first, although he's content has taken a couple steps back in my opinion. Songs like K.O.S Determination, Brown Skin Lady, and Good Mourning have been replaced with more policitcal messages, and a tone that's less 1990's and more "myspace-street." Eardrum was a decent step in the right direction, though.

1) Not really. I can't hate them because they're good, because everyone's a contender compared to the Nets. If the rumors are true that we could have gotten Gasol for expiring deals and not Kidd, Carter, Jefferson, or Williams then I hate Rod Thorn and Bruce Rater above all else.

3) Isn't that one question? I'm happy that we're getting a guy who, when all is said and done, is better than Jason Collins. I wouldn't say i'm disappointed to see Swift come in (I don't care about his suspension in Memphis), and I'm not really disappointed that Collins is leaving, although part of me will miss having Sausage Lips around. Fact of the matter is, he's contemporary Nets history; this era.

1) I'm not quite at the point where I can post a youtube of me dancing to questionable music, so I'll say "almost."
2) I currently go to school at Arizona State, but live in NJ. I used to live in AZ when I was young, though. I went to some Suns games and enjoyed the experience, but I was pretty young and wasn't that big an analyst as I am now, nor did I follow the league. I moved to NJ the same summer that Kidd got traded from PHX (the two weren't related, trust me), and went to some Nets games. I fell in love with the team, and stuck with them even after Kenyon got traded.
3) Not very modest, are we?

Well they certainly don't mention it as much. That could be because they don't go out of their way to make that distinction, or it could just be a lack of objectivity (look at how Collins was treated). Kidd's actions aren't helping the franchinse, not by a long shot. However this is pale in comparison to what he's done for the franchise over the past couple of years. He gave the franchise an identity, he gave our style of basketball an identity. Kidd sucks by wanting to leave, and is also the best PG in Nets history (although I do understand his reasons for leaving).

1) A realistic deal at this point would have to include Dallas. We get no picks, but enough young talent to be deserving.
2) In 3 years he'll have consistency: timing on his blocks, and a bit more consistent offensive outtings. The timing on his blocks alone will make him lethal. In 5 years he refines his post game and jumper out to 10 feet, and starts putting up 18/9/4. In 7 years he enters his prime, and turns into a 20/10 type of guy.
3) It's not that KC could do trannies; he does; he loves so; he's attracted to their lifestyle, fashion sense, and overall je ne sais quoi that associates himself with them on the weekend; uh, 8?

1) Kidd currently has 98 TD's I think. Predicting the number of triple doubles he gets will mean I have to predict how long his career is, since I don't see him getting any worse production wise. He's got two more years of his contract (counting this year), and has currently made it known he's looking for a one year extension. Now I'm not saying its out of the question that he asks for another one-year deal when that's done, but it lets me know he's either thinking about ending his career (and will be Favre-ing it year-by-year), or is just looking for some flexibility so that he can resign with a contender and chase his ring from team to team. I think I'll give him 3 more years after this season, and I see him getting 10, 9, 9 his last three years. I could see him getting 6 more this season (knowing full well he already has 11 at the half way point). 98+6+10+9+9 = 132. If he plays more than 3 more after this season, I think he would closely pass Magic at 138.

2)I wouldn't say that Kidd is underrated, nor would I say those players aren't hated. However, I think Kidd doesn't have the charisma that Shaq has, and I think Kidd's hate comes from this dissonance that exists between his public persona, and the way he handles himself behind the scene. Kidd is portrayed as this epitome of a point guard; the dream guy to play with; the guy who ressurects franchises and single-handedly constructs careers. Behind the scenes however, he's manipulative, and has had significant off-the-court incidents. Call it expectation maybe, but I think it could be that Kidd's play has set a standard so high, that he's unable to meet society's "concept of Jason Kidd."

3) Oh helllll yeah I could. Heck, Memphis gets to keep their second round pick in this version. We then scourer the D-League and nab Boom Tho, Billy Thomas, Eddie Gill, et al.

. If I end up like cpawfan then I constantly live in disdain of my favorite basketball team, and am never pleased; always heartbroken by every move. If I end up like Dumpy I face myself constantly trying to reason with those that cannot comprehend any idea that is not their own; it is valiant, but eternally pointless; I would worry that my faith in message boards would die lol. So I guess ending up like all of you scares me!

2) Lol nice reputation you have around here KC. I am a breast man. I am genetically predisposed to seek women that are best suited for procreation and child-rearing, not who can have the best cushion whilist she is on the crapper.

3) Oh man. Well in the scope of things the Cowboys are a better NFL team than the Nets are a D-Le, er I mean NBA team. However, the basketball season is a bit longer than twice the length of the NFL schedule (even with playoffs)(At least thats my perception, I'm too lazy to check a calendar). I normally choose quality over quantity, but with preseason, summer league, draft, and FA periods, basketball is really a year-long event. I give up the NFL.

1) Haha well you gotta see that the choice I have is women, or beer and women (although implicitly stated!). Tennesee women have never really done anything for me. I don't dig the "blonde southern look" (big forhead, square jaw, flat face). I do want to go to australia, and I'm sure I can find away to incorporate proper rugby amongst the libations.

1) McCain, go AZ!!! Why? During a republican debate, when asked about torturing terrorists, the republican puppets said ridiculous answers like "HAY I'D DOUBLE GUANTANAMOOO" and "DOUBLE? I'D TRIPLE IT AMIRITE" and one guy actually referenced Jack Bauer! Then it was McCain's turn. Having been a victim of torture he stuck to his guns, rather than sell out, and condemned the practice on national tv. I don't like the fact he's pro-life, but I'm going to have problems with any candidate, and I surely don't want a democrat in office any time soon.
2)Consistency; the timing of his blocks. Not only because I think thats the quickest way he can improve his impact, but it'd make my previously made prediction in this thread correct!
3) Ha, well hindsight is 20/20. Obviously the team is in a hole and Jason has gone public; I'd trade him last year. Of course, being perfectly honest, I was dead-set against blowing the team up last year.
4) Since the world is not ready for the GMJigga porno, I'd go action. I'd be fun to fire guns, and blow shit up.

1)Hm...this can hardly be accurate until we see how Bynum gels, but I see the Celtics having an easier time getting to the finals (assuming they do). After taking fatigue and possible injuries into consideration, I'm going to say...Lakers in 7. Seven because who really knows, and Lakers because I'd take a Kobe-led big 4 over a KG-led big 3.
2) Honestly, if the Mavs trade for Kidd I still don't see them making it (shhh don't tell Cuban; I need Harris). The Suns are the darkhorse, because I don't know if Shaq can hold up by the time the playoffs heat up, or if the team gels with whatever modified style of play they choose. If they can implement a healthy Shaq, then its them or the Lakers. The Spurs always deserve consideration, but I think the recent arms-race (I'm stealing your phrase, cpaw) has placed more superstar talent on the other teams. Suns or Lakers, and that'd be a hell of a WCF.
3) I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Winterfresh, although I'd like to try that new 5ive gum.

1. NBA = Kenyon Martin is Forever. NFL = Ray Lewis (What! Not a Cowboys player!? Blasphemy!). Rugby = Tana Umaga.
2. It'd have to be during the finals run against the Spurs, since that was the best period of contemporary Nets history, and the only other year they made it to the finals they got swept! My moment would have to be when Kenyon Martin finally woke the stadium up, gave everyone what we'd been waiting for, and let the Spurs know that we wouldn't be afraid to run our game, and we wouldn't go down without a fight (On a similar note, die Steve Kerr. If this Shaq trade doesn't work out thats Game Five Karma for you)

3) I really don't have one. I never root for any other team in the NFL except for the Cowboys, or the Nets in the NBA. It's not like I don't enjoy watching other teams play: I try to watch as much as I can, but not to root for; I'd feel like I'm cheating on those two teams. I've actually never, ever, ever, played a sports video game with a team other than the Nets or Cowboys. Ever.

If Kidd gets traded to the Nuggets, that just might be the hail mary move that could get me emotionally interested in other team, but even that is contingent on my love of the Nets.

Wooord; better late than never.

1. I don't follow other NFL teams as much as I do other NBA teams, so I'm not sure how the young guys are doing. What I can say is that I was hoping Cocong would fall to a Dallas mid-round pick a couple years ago. If there's one thing the Eagles do better than a Jerry Jones-led Cowboys team is draft TRUE inside linebackers. We've currently got a log jam of OLB hybrids without solid muscle in the middle (I love you Dat Nyguen!)

2. McNabb gets a bad rep; he's like the Jason Kidd of the eagles in the sense that a couple recent setbacks have made everyone forget what a great career he's had with the franchise. If the organization was serious with that Kevin Kolb pick (and therefore his future as an eagle), then they should see what offers they can get from Chicago, Baltimore, and maybe even Minnesota. If he's nearing a period of being a lame duck, they should trade him now and get the most out of him because lets face it, they're not winning a championship as long as Romo is in the league
