I haven't seen him play, but that sounds a bit like Anthony Mason to me...
Ed O.

Better shooter but not the lockdown defender Mase was. Of course, I don't think he took all the steroids that turned Mase from a guard into a tank.

What time is tonights game?

Wroten has looked really good during his first couple games. Almost a triple-double last game and 19 pts on just 9 shots. A 6'6" PG? I mean c'mon really? I hate Huskies, too. Tells you I really think highly of Wroten.

Josh Selby's dynamic offensively. I've always been high on his game. Definitely not a PG though. In today's NBA it doesn't matter though.

Summer League is fun to watch guys that have played in the NBA work on things they normally would never do in an NBA game. Kwahi Leonard going isolation and taking his man off the dribble. Faried chucking jumpers all day.

I really liked Wroten. Dude put up pretty solid numbers as a freshman in the Pac-12. I know the Pac-12 was weak last year, but still. He's going to be a solid player in the league.

Why do older people say "You just don't want to be a jump shooter" when they should be saying "You don't just want to be a jump shooter" or "You don't want to be just a jump shooter?"

Mike Rice says it, and I've heard a lot of older commentators do it too.. Is there any specific reason? Just a pet peeve of mine..

Yes, there is a good reason: Them's not English teachers err English majors.

Harrison Barnes and John Henson both here watching fellow Tar Heel draftees Tyler Zeller and Kendall Marshall go head-to-head.

Nice to see

Waiters with another awful shooting night. 5-15 from the field.

Good news guys, with Smith incapacitated, we'll be seeing a lot more of Diebler.

I don't really remember Anthony Mason much, but that seems like a solid comparison.

BTW, Anthony Mason Jr. is in the D-League.

Being someone who played basketball for several years in Memphis, where Mason, Jr. is from, I think that the only thing Anthony Mason, Jr. got from his dad was his genes. Mason, Jr. played down at Fairley and lived with his mom down in Whitehaven (aka "Blackhaven" or the "BHZ"... maybe the worst neighborhood in Memphis). His dad never showed up to his games, and his dad didn't have any ties to Memphis that I ever knew of. I hate to be a dick about something that I'm not 100% about, but I just got the impression that Anthony Mason didn't do much for his kid other than give him his genes and name. It's not exactly like Doc and Austin Rivers.

It's the same case with Shawn Kemp and Shawn Kemp, Jr. (I know, big surprise)

doesn't Kemp have an insane amount of kids? I remember the number being insanely high (at like 28) from the Yahoo article I read about his son 2 years ago.

Yeah I remember hearing that as well. He wasn't even in the life of the one named after him.. Unless there are multiple Shawn Kemp Juniors...

I grew up when the Reign Man was in his prime, and even then I remember making jokes about his number of kids, when I was a kid myself. The funny thing is that if you look at his Wiki page, it was reported that he only had 7 kids, but... that was in 1998. Having 21 since would not be surprising haha...

(Given his genes though, watch there be ten Kemp's in the league by 2020.)

EDIT:

BTW - Has anyone else noticed an increase in NBA/NFL prospects named Shaquille?

For example, in 2012 football recruiting alone:

Shaq Thompson, a University of Washington recruit, is ranked #4 overall and #1 at safety.

Shaq Roland is rated the #1 player in South Carolina (#66 overall) and is commited to USC.

Shaq Lawson is rated the #3 player in South Carolina and is commited to Clemson.

Shaq Powell is the #3 player n Nevada and the #6 all-purpose back, headed to Duke.

(Not to mention you had 2011 recruits like Shaq Anthony (Clemson), Shaq Love (Kentucky), Shaq Rowell (West Virginia), and Shaq Mason (Georgia Tech))

Then you have 2012 basketball recruits:

Shaq Goodwin is a McDonald's All-American big man headed to Memphis that has serious pro potential.

Shaq Cleare is a four star recruit for Maryland that measures in at 6'9", 285 lbs.

Shaq Johnson is a 6'5" Rivals 150 wing that's headed to Auburn.

And then there's even Shaq Stokes, a 6'0" guard headed to Hofstra, as well as three other lower level DI recruits named Shaq.

...

SERIOUSLY?!?!?!
