Galling, but I've often thought Nic holds it for longer than 5 seconds on inbounds. That's probably the least of the refs' offenses last night.
I thought it was the most crucial one because it had the most impact on the game. The game was literally on the line at that point.
Yea well the game should have never been on the line in the first place. HOU was completely propped up by the refs the entire game.

It's the limp legged fall, as if they were completely knocked out that the Rockets have really pioneered. That is their innovation in the area of flopping.

Me too. I was screaming for the 5 second call. I even rewound the vid on my DVR and counted it down myself after it happened. Just a bullshit game all over the place.Yeah, that was entirely too long and was pissed watching it.
I wonder if the league office has any interest what-so-ever in reviewing any of these calls. Probably not. They team they wanted to win won. New boss, same as the old boss.
There is certainly compelling video evidence that: Beverly flopped, the Rockets tried to advance the ball after the missed FT and they got 6 seconds to inbound the ball. Yeah, make the FT and we win in regulation, but that's not an excuse for such poor officiating.

I'd love for, just once, Paul Allen to go ballistic publicly. Like maybe call a press conference and talk about our new strategy for next season: flopping.
"As the NBA rewards deception and flopping, we've found ourselves behind the times. Next slide please. Just as we've revamped our physical training regimen to be the most advanced in the league, so too will be adapting our offensive scheme to ensure referees will call fouls for us. We're going to flop like none have flopped before. We have investigated the latest in flopping techniques, and we have a new, as yet unseen technique so potent that referees will call fouls for us every time."

That bullshit play alone cost the Blazers that game. So did any one of four missed free throws in the fourth quarter. So did not calling Howard for all the illegal screens and shoves in the back. So did the six seconds to inbound the ball. I could go on. Such is the nature of the NBA.So, Lillard's left pinky got caught in Beverley's jersey and that caused Beverley's head to snap back and his legs to go limp like he'd been run over by a Mac truck? Not only is that not a foul, it's not even good acting.

The issue is it seems the official doesn't start counting 1 until 2 seconds have passed so in his mind (the official's) I think he believes Lin got the ball off just in time (counted to 5 when it was really 6).
Amazing how in that count, he got to 3, I think, judging by him extending his hand out.
Ya, after watching it again it looks like he puts his arm out 4 times. So it would have had to been like an 8 second inbounds for him to call it. Sad!
