Video showing Harden's last shot should not have happened

There was another gift there as well, as I recall. I think it led to the timeout immediately prior to this play. A Rocket rebounded the ball under the Blazers basket, dribbled once, and then called time out. They should have had to take the ball out from under our basket and go full court. But the refs awarded them a time out as if the player had not dribbled, and let them inbound in their own half court. A huge difference!

Galling, but I've often thought Nic holds it for longer than 5 seconds on inbounds. That's probably the least of the refs' offenses last night.

I thought it was the most crucial one because it had the most impact on the game. The game was literally on the line at that point.

Yea well the game should have never been on the line in the first place. HOU was completely propped up by the refs the entire game.

No question about that. All one needs to review is the sequence earlier in the fourth when both Matthews and Batum get taken out chasing a loose ball, and possession was given to Houston.

Oh, I definitely agree. This was the worst game for me to watch all season with the Blazers having to play 5 on 8 and flopping Harden and Beverly.

Disgraceful

It's the limp legged fall, as if they were completely knocked out that the Rockets have really pioneered. That is their innovation in the area of flopping.

Regardless if it was even a foul, Beverly deserves to be fined.

So, Lillard's left pinky got caught in Beverley's jersey and that caused Beverley's head to snap back and his legs to go limp like he'd been run over by a Mac truck? Not only is that not a foul, it's not even good acting.

I wonder if the league office has any interest what-so-ever in reviewing any of these calls. Probably not. They team they wanted to win won. New boss, same as the old boss.

There is certainly compelling video evidence that: Beverly flopped, the Rockets tried to advance the ball after the missed FT and they got 6 seconds to inbound the ball. Yeah, make the FT and we win in regulation, but that's not an excuse for such poor officiating.

I'm not sure which is more disappointing about dropping out of the 3rd seed: losing HCA, or the fact that HOU and LAC won't meet each other in the first round. Those two teams of floppers and whiners deserve each other. The poor refs wouldn't know which team of media darlings to favor. Plus, if they face each other only one of them can advance. I refuse to watch multiple rounds of both HOU and LAC in the playoffs. They are both a discredit to the game of basketball. Whatever happened to sportsmanship in sports? It used to be you won because you played better. Now you win because you complain more and cheat.

Shocking news.

It's going to be a shame for Houston if they get far enough in the playoffs to play the Okies or Clippers. All of these calls will mysteriously start going the other way.

I'd love for, just once, Paul Allen to go ballistic publicly. Like maybe call a press conference and talk about our new strategy for next season: flopping.

"As the NBA rewards deception and flopping, we've found ourselves behind the times. Next slide please. Just as we've revamped our physical training regimen to be the most advanced in the league, so too will be adapting our offensive scheme to ensure referees will call fouls for us. We're going to flop like none have flopped before. We have investigated the latest in flopping techniques, and we have a new, as yet unseen technique so potent that referees will call fouls for us every time."

Yeah, that was entirely too long and was pissed watching it.
Me too. I was screaming for the 5 second call. I even rewound the vid on my DVR and counted it down myself after it happened. Just a bullshit game all over the place.

Oh, yeah. And Beverly is a Bitch.

Howard was caught twice on video for 2-handed shoves in the back. You'd think the refs would at least call those. Disgraceful. Our boys plays hard though, no disgrace there.

Yeah, Mark Cuban is a pain in the ass, but he's willing to put his wallet where his mouth is when his team gets screwed. I wouldn't want PA to be constantly bitching and whining, but after an especially egregious reaming like last night, I'd like to see him take a fine for the team, if nothing else, it will let the players know management has their backs.

They could even do it as a parody, that they have a new advanced stat, FLP% that will help them evaluate future draft picks and free agents to target to insure success in today's NBA.

Thought there was some pretty bad calls, but if we continue to finish games where we don't score in the last so many minutes, it can't continually be the fault of the refs that that happens. Hit a FT and we win the game. Maybe we win by getting a better look than an alleyoop with 8.8 seconds left. Maybe if we made more than one FG in the last what, 7 minutes? Some definite shitty calls. But some shittier play.

The issue is it seems the official doesn't start counting 1 until 2 seconds have passed so in his mind (the official's) I think he believes Lin got the ball off just in time (counted to 5 when it was really 6).

That bullshit play alone cost the Blazers that game. So did any one of four missed free throws in the fourth quarter. So did not calling Howard for all the illegal screens and shoves in the back. So did the six seconds to inbound the ball. I could go on. Such is the nature of the NBA.

Maybe they should put inbounds plays on a clock, like the shot clock?

And Beverly was a Bitch that whole game.

Amazing how in that count, he got to 3, I think, judging by him extending his hand out.

Ya, after watching it again it looks like he puts his arm out 4 times. So it would have had to been like an 8 second inbounds for him to call it. Sad!

Ah I see, looks like he extended for 4 when he was starting to turn his body, so didn't see his arm come out there.
