Why?

Why?

Why?

What has he done this year? There are SOOO many other players who deserve to go besides him. He is injury prone, his point total is down, and he is a big baby who complained about his team. I pray that NJ nets suck this year so he can continue hating his life.

The fans need to realize he is not that good.

The only thing that will make him good this year is Jason Kidd.

Half the fans who vote dont know much about B-ball and just pick his name because he is known.

Wow end your life right now. Your faggotty ass dont deserve to see him.

How did this thread survive for 2 hours without getting locked, I don't know!

The only way Vince is going to be an all star this year is if he is voted in as a starter by the fans because there isn't a coach in the NBA right now that would vote for him as a reserve, except for Lawrence Frank.

It's not too late for him to turn things around though and I have a good feeling that he will thrive with the Nets, if anything Jason Kidd will turn Vince into an all star.

seriously, i will be contented if vince can just comeback to all star level. and people dont realize this, but the all star game is a popularity contest. the most popular get in , period. complaining will not do a thing, but luckily coaches in the nba respect good play, thats why we have deserving all-star selections year after year.

most nba fans watch the nba for hightlight reels (i know as i used to be part of the group) and only pick names that are mentioned in news and sportscenter all the time.
to an average north american, would u rather pick a player with a rep for incredible dunks (aka vince carter) or someone effecient, but receives little exposure/hype from the media (aka antawn jamison)? We dudes here at JBB know jamison is more deserving than carter, but he was on teams perceived to be lousy, like golden state and washington, and he often stays away from the media, so of course people tend to disregard him when considering all star balloting

Keep Your Post Clean Or Thread Will Be Closed

Post already in this thread have had to be deleted due to content. And given the Subject, more of such probably will likely continue. If it does then the thread will be closed.

Plus Nets fans, a majority of them at least probably didnt vote for Carter, they voted Jefferson. So you are starting a thread in the wrong forum, Raptors fans are responsible for that, I guess. Either way, keep the post clean and intelligent guys.

I do not know about you all, but I am voting both Carter and Jefferson (before I was voting Jefferson and Okafor)...I know Carter has not done any thing yet, but it just a phycological thing I guess.

I just realized that the same thing with T-Mac and Houston, might happen with Carter in NJ; Both fans from Toronto plus his global fans, and now his NJ fans will vote for him. He might go ahead of Shaq, but I doubt it.

dont be sad because he wasnt traded to your fav team...

All-star game is all about dunks and fancy passes, people remember his dunks and know that he can do it in the all-star game.

I don't think he wanted Vince anyway, I think he is mad because there are other players deserving it more and I totally agree but as Martin said, fans remember his dunks and his entertaining style of play. The other deserving players will get voted in as reserves from the coaches, so nothing to worry about too much imho.

a allstar game is spoce to b exiting and a show not a real game so that's why

Because half of the fans who vote dont know crap about the NBA and just know his name.

Not really, yea people still liked him, but we're not idiots, I didn't vote for Carter I voted for Hill and Jamison, many Raptor fans were also angry at him. Also the percentage of votes that come from Canada is very very small consdering not that many people care enough about basketball to vote, and the people that do care aren't as many in comparison to the voters in the states.

The casual fan voted him in, he still dunks in All-Star games, people want to see that.

Ahead of Lebron,Hill,Pierce,Jefferson,Jamison?Give me a break. Why dont we also vote stromile swift and desmond mason into the allstar game, since they too are flashy dunkers.

lol i surely voted for desmond, cuz dats what allstar games are about SHOWTIME.. vince without question deserves to be in the allstar game, i hope he leads it all this year.. he can still dunk wen he wants to, the windmill he sure did get up.. he still has his hops i dont know what he waiting for but whatver man im happy to see him on the allstar team as he is the best player above the rim, not kobe, not tmac none of them can touch him above the rim.. kobe tries his hardest every night which is amazing, but he is tryin his hardest an still missing dunks and edit .. lol vince puts it down with such ease..

vince will show what a great player he is in newjersey even tho he is again on an undersized team. but i personally dont think he is staying in new jersey.. i have a feeling he will be traded again, but watever happens happens, vince is the best dunker. u cant even say jordan in his prime was better than vince in his prime.. vince could take the dunk off for 5 years in a row with the exact same dunks and take the title each year

All-Star games aren't games it's more of an alley-oop fest. The games are high scoring. No one really plays any D till the last maybe three minutes. VC was the most exciting player in the league at one time. That's why he gets so many votes.

Its a popularity contest, nowadays. Dont u know that?? ur just answering yourself. there is no need for this thread. everyone knows why.

omg look at who gets voted in too the allstar games at guards and and some fowards players that can put on a show

iverson one of the best lobbers and has incredible handilings
james look at him really
vince dunks dunks
hill everyone wanted him here cause of the comeback
shaq i wonder

kobe dunk dunks
tmac dunks dunks
garnett he can put on a good show
duncan same as garnett
yao who else are they going to vote for for the west center divac

For the most part, All-Star voting goes to the most popular among the days youth or whoever shows up in the most dunk clips on SportCenter.

Fans should have to take a short test before being able to vote, so that they actually know what's going on THIS season, rather than perennially living in the past.

well its only 20 games into the season and 2 months till the allstar game if vince goes crazy dunking all over the place scoring 30 ppg and leading the nets to a 10-0 run then sure he deserves his spot. we'll just have to wait.

People say crazy things when a player makes a flashy play.Vinces numbers are garbage, and he has no heart."Im not going to dunk anymore."What a fruit. Please vote any of the 4-5 players that have had a better year so far into it instead of him.

Quote:

he is the best player above the rim, not kobe, not tmac none of them can touch him above the rim..
Lebron is quite easily a better above the rim player than Vince.Lebron makes simple dunks look amazing.

Quoting GiantMidget:

Lebron is quite easily a better above the rim player than Vince.Lebron makes simple dunks look amazing.

RU SERIOUS? yea lebron gets high but dont even compare lebrons dunks to vinces in his prime vince has so much style taking off and finishing for the jam.
And lebron has no syle and can barely windmill just the same one handed dunk all the tie and occasionally a reverse dunk on the break which any of vinces sub-par windmills r better than.

Because the all star game is a game of excitement. Vince always amazes during the all star game, I expect him to this year, because if he doesn't, he doesn't deserve to be there.

Yes VC might suit better in NJ with Kidd, Yes he is a great dunker, but he still cant....break his defender down off the dribble, play defense, play with heart and shoots too many fadeaways/3's.......
VC aint even one of the top 10 G/F in the east....let alone the NBA....Just look at the forwards in this years all star ballot, and you can argue that they are having a better season than VC....and are more deserving

V. Carter, Toronto Raptors (16-3-3)
D. Gooden, Cleveland Cavaliers (17-10)
A. Harrington, Atlanta Hawks (17-7-4)
G. Hill, Orlando Magic (20-4-4)
D. Howard, Orlando Magic (10-10)
A. Jamison, Washington Wizards (22-9-3)
R. Jefferson, New Jersey Nets (22-8-4)
E. Okafor, Charlotte Bobcats (15-12)
J. O'Neal, Indiana Pacers (23-10)
K. Thomas, New York Knicks (12-11)
A. Walker, Altanta Hawks (21-9)
K. Van Horn, Milwaukee Bucks (17-8)

Vc is trash.

You clearly have the right to your opinion and I have no problem with such. But for the future please bring more to your post to back up your point, as well as keep the flow of intelligent conversation on going. Every post must bring something to the table, this post really doesnt do so...So please just keep that in mind when you post in the Nets forum or any forum around Justbball. Ask yourself does my post bring anything new or strong to the conversation?, Thanks- Henacy

This year Carter is not playing on All Star level, it's probally all the young fans who vote for him to see him do his crazy dunks in the All Star game. You never know though, he could turn things around with his new team and show that he deserves a starter spot on the All Star team.

I think the NBA should change it's system, the fans should be able to vote the all star roster, then the coaches should be able to chose the starters and rotation.

Then let Vince join the slam dunk contest & leave the game for the more complete players.
