Vince: We Should Have Election Day Off

Nets' swingman Vince Carter believes that the NBA should give teams Election Day off so players can exercise their right to vote.

"I don't get it. This is an important day," Carter said. "Everybody should be taking off from work and making sure they get to the polls."

If you are registered in LA but your game is in NY I think that wouldn work.

But I dont get VC, there is something called absentee ballots.

yeah, really. It's not like election day is a surprise thing that they just randomly pick a day for, and the NBA schedule is already announced long before then too. I like that he's saying it's important to vote...but if you know you aren't going to be in the state you registered for that day, then get the absentee ballot

All NBA players should have the presence of mind to fill out an absentee ballot.

I think it's ridiculous some departments in NJ were closed for the entire day. A late opening wouldn't suffice?
