It was the on the Dan Patrick show.
If that "way" is a similar shitty offer to the Blazers, then, no, there isn't a way.

That power layup was impressive if it wasn't just luck that it went in.How would we know how good he is? All he does is float on the perimeter and wait for someone to pass him the ball. When he tries to do more, we'll have a better idea if he's an actual player.
Well this thread is specifically about Amen Thompson, is it not? It’s not like I’m randomly bringing him up in game threads.Dude, we get it. You LOVE Amen Thompson and we're going to hear about him ALLLLLLL SEASON. I think he has potential. I think he's going to struggle next season against NBA competition.
You have been bashing on Scoot since before the draft. My point was that when Scoot was matched up on him, he had no problem being able to get past him or score.
You know what Scoot has that Amen does not have? Leadership. Personality. Gravitas.
The absolute worst thing we could do is replace Damian Lillard with another wall flower kid. Just put him up there with the gregarious twins... Simons and Sharpe. They both do so much talking.
During the pre draft period , the Blazers had many in for workouts. They obviously fell in love with Scoot. But what happened during Cam Whitmore's workout, and in his other visits to NBA teams , that made him drop so far. Because Whitmore just had a game with 8 steals in a game, and the two of the Blazers biggest needs were SF, & defense. I'm no Mike Schmitz college guru, but said Whitmore reminded me of Calvin Natt. With the kind of mean the Blazers needed. I know, it's Summer league, but if you're gonna give credence to Scoot's performance, and Wemby, you have to do the same for Whitmore.
The Blazers already have a Ferrari, they didn't need another one. They needed an F Duty, or Ram truck (Whitmore) more. They still need a SF. Not saying the Blazers should have used the 3rd pick on Whitmore, but maybe they could have traded back, and got both Whitmore & Lively. The Blazers young centers look developmental at best. We'll see if falling in love with the shiny sports car was the way to go. If you have a great QB , and you need offensive linemen to protect him, you don't draft another QB.
Or Dame wants out and he really only wants to go Miami. Why isn't that possible?
Did Durant have a beef against the Nets' GM/ownership?
Dame isn't Durant
and the current situation with Dame isn't the same as Durant's. Dame went from 11 years of loyalty to Portland to having his agent doing everything he could to destroy Portland's leverage in any trade scenario but one. That's fairly unprecedented; and that happened in less than a month. If you don't see some bad blood there, fine, but I certainly see it
Sure there is bad blood.Dame isn't Durant

The problem for Dame is that he's making a trade difficult, and supposedly he wants to be traded.
I think Cronin would be happy having Dame back, at least he would prefer that to a bad return.

Side note: I explicitly said the kid cannot shoot. So I don’t “LOVE” Amen Thompson. I said I would draft him because virtually every draft expert acknowledges he has the second highest ceiling in the draft.
I also was not bashing him. I was evaluating his game just like I evaluated others. I also said multiple times I like him and he’s probably the best player right now. Players like him just don’t win championships so I’m not too interested. So for the 10,000 time, please stop with the bullshit claims that I was “bashing” the kid. I’ve pointed out flaws of Amen, Miller, Whitmore, Scoot.
Yeah, ok, and my point was that’s not true. He would get by him and then (Scoot compliment incoming, but how is that possible since I hate him) realize that Amen was right there and instead of getting blocked / taking a really tough shot / he made great passes in tight spots instead of forcing it at the rim.
And ok. Fair enough if that’s your perspective about leadership and gravitas. But finally, the post you responded to said you haven’t seen ANY defensive prowess by Amen.
If Damian Lillard blows by Kawhi, does that mean Kawhi has *no defensive prowess*?
