So let me go this straight:Summer.
League.
So let me go this straight:
Amen’s defensive stats = Summer league
Scoot’s offensive performance = Future superstar (even though it’s summer league)?
My eye test tells me that Amen has amazing tools but he is still very raw when it comes to actual NBA game. A lot of what he got was based on his amazing individual gifts. Scoot, in comparison, seems much further along at understanding the NBA game and reading and reacting to it in real time. Sure, he uses his natural gifts where he can - but you can also see that he was anticipating things as they were developing and using a counter-move on the fly. That's a great tool that not all super athletic guys ever develop - and I am not saying that Amen will not - because I am a big fan of his as well - but there are no guarantees.
Scoot's decision making and understanding seems to be a lot further along that Amen's. That's not saying that Amen will not get there or maybe even surpass Scoot one day, it could happen, but I was a lot more impressed with Scoot's decision making than his athletic abilities. He looked like a great starting point to either a more athletic Chris Paul type player or a smarter Russel Westbrook type player. That's very exciting, for sure.
Uh, yeah, and that’s why I posted a guy who I know you agreed with (The Ringer) saying Amen looks good on defense. Wasn’t about the stats. Obviously you could have a different take, but so far, you’re pretty much the only person who didn’t leave Amen’s summer league game impressed with his defense. The overall stats are less important than watching for specific things. How did Amen do defending Scoot? How did Scoot do when he was matched up with good defenders like Eason?
How many of those blocks or steals were against trash players? We have tons of garbage players who will be in the G League next year. Overall stats are pretty worthless. We want to see certain things so that's why I'm watching players to see what kinds of moves they have. How do they defend? What kinds of passes are they making?

I was really impressed with Scoot not forcing shots at the rim and instead making some *beautiful* passes to open shooters. My eye test tells me that Amen has amazing tools but he is still very raw when it comes to actual NBA game. I can tell you at least 1 of the blocks was on Scoot. How many times did Scoot block Amen?
And Scoot was matched up against G leaguers too.
But my overall point is what you just proved. You’ll devalue anything Amen did good and pump up everything Scoot does and then say “summer league” when it’s about Amen, but “summer league” doesn’t apply to Scoot suddenly.
Uh, what? I must be out of the loop. What kind of marital problems is Lillard having? As Chauncey said, Dame's decision was not just about basketball. He's losing his wife. He probably wants to put some miles between his marital problems and his job.
Haynes said he's losing his wife..others mentioned he'd been disconnected from her social media as far back as last December...it was talked about in a podcast where Haynes was interviewed...he mentioned the tax advantage in Florida if your'e about to lose half your money. Other than that I know nothing about it...Chauncey also said Dame's reasons were not all basketball related. I hope he salvages his marriage personally for the sake of those 3 young kids. I don't know anything more than that outline of the situation. I was surprised Haynes would bring it up at all. It's been mentioned on the boards here several times. At any rate...seems he's going through a dark patch and I hope he turns it around. Damee always said the women in his family kept him from getting too full of himself....maybe he slipped upUh, what? I have no idea but seeing as Dame didn't want a no trade clause I'd guess he didn't get a pre-nup agreement either.Don't think Florida lower tax will help with divorce settlement - settlement asset splits aren't really taxable. It will help that home games (50%) of his salary won't have a ~10% Oregon tax so yeah he'll save about 5% of his NBA contract. But he can deduct alimony and spouse pay tax on it so would actually be less than 5% maybe 4% savings. Its certainly something but its not as big an impact as often gets portrayed in these tax vs no state tax examples.
Yeah I don't wish a divorce on anyone; regardless of faults or the situation thats got to be brutal to go through - especially with kids.
Wow. First I’m hearing of any of this. Thanks for the information. If true, it’s a shame for his kids.Haynes said he's losing his wife..others mentioned he'd been disconnected from her social media as far back as last December...it was talked about in a podcast where Haynes was interviewed...he mentioned the tax advantage in Florida if your'e about to lose half your money. Yeah one reason I'm not shaming Dame too much, I don't think we know all the details of his personal life or private conversations he had with Blazers management.Wow. First I’m hearing of any of this. Thanks for the information. If true, it’s a shame for his kids.
Dame just posted a nice Mother’s Day post about her couple months ago that had no indication of divorce
did you expect it to?
You're welcome to believe what you believe...I heard it from Haynes in an interview...I didn't make it up although Haynes might have. It is speculation which is sort of what everything is from someone who doesn't know Dame...Hayes I believe does. You're wrong about it being made up by me. Other than that you're welcome to your own media feed. As for Haynes..I hope he's lying about it for the sake of Dame's family and kids.@riverman haynes did not mention a single thing about Dame getting divorced. Neither did Chauncey. Billups only said he's thinking of things other than basketball also. No one in the media has said anything specific about Dame's family. This is simply speculation and assumptions from this forum.
Come on man. Quit making up things.

I'm looking for it....I think it's been pulled..it was two media guys interviewing Haynes while he was shopping in Sacramento...I doubt Dame was happy if he heard it. It shocked me as I had no idea. When Dame demanded a trade I heard the interview.....today I'm having trouble finding it...I'm sure Dame had it pulled down. Maybe Dame has fixed his issue. I did find a headline about his wife having a boyfriend but didn't bother to read it ...I hope as I've said..that it's being fixed for his families sake. At any rate....it wasn't fabricated by me. I thought it was worth mentioning. I listened to it on youtube but the same search I did before is not showing it todayGimme a link to where Haynes said this.
He never said it. You might have heard from someone else. It was Haynes...and he did say it. Believe what you like. I don't make up gossip. Haynes might though. He never said it. You might have heard from someone else. Not Haynes.
Someone here said that they heard it from a friend who is a member of the local media. So, I have no confirmation, but it makes sense with Dame turning 180 degrees. What other reasonable explanation is there? He never said it. You might have heard from someone else. Not Haynes.
