Someone here said that they heard it from a friend who is a member of the local media. So, I have no confirmation, but it makes sense with Dame turning 180 degrees. What other reasonable explanation is there?
It was 100% forum speculation. Could be true. Could be false. But Haynes never said it.

he did but you can speculate he didn't....choices. You're speculating in finalities. I've said what I heard about this issue but I'm done with it now.

Just fyi... i unfortunately have hate listened to every Haynes podcast. Why are you insisting on sticking to this nonsense of all things?

This wasn't Hayne's podcast...he was a guest..it's a topic of controversy...I don't have any agenda or reason to defend Haynes or Dame either way. You seem to but the story isn't about me.

And yet you are unable to provide any link or proof. Got it. It's fine if you say it's speculation, but you are making it out to be definitive, when it's anything but. You even made a leap in saying Billups said it too while he said nothing of the sort.

Billups said Dame's choice was not necessarily about basketball. Don't tell me you missed that interview? Chauncey doesn't give details about these things.

And you made that leap to "dame losing his wife."

Lol ok. And at a random interview for which you dont have a link. Noted.

This is like pulling teeth.
It's a sports conversation....pretty simple stuff. Spare me the condescending personal stuff and we're good. I actually tried to find the link for you....I'm convinced it's been pulled.

I won't speculate on Dame's marriage, but the most reasonable explanation for Dame going from 11 years of loyalty to the Blazers, and Portland, to this 'scorched-earth-agent-torpedoes-Blazer-leverage-Miami-or-bust-no-compromise' is Dame thinking he was lied to and feeling betrayed

And to further that line of thinking, I'm wondering if he had a handshake agreement with Cronin to send him to his destination of choice if the rebuild did not manifest in a yr.

I believe that Riverman is talking about this interview that Haynes did with Dwight and Chad before the draft. I remember listening to it when they did that interview and he was in Sacramento at his hair salon or something. But I don't hear anything about Dame really.

I also remember listening to another pod, and I can't remember who it was..... it was the one where they asked him if Boston was an option and he was like "nooooooo." I have listened to way too many podcasts in the past 3 or 4 weeks.

I can't find the podcast where Haynes talks about Dame not wanting to go to Boston. I don't think it's on his own podcast.

It was the on the Dan Patrick show.

Yeah, I was just looking through Dan Patrick's shows trying to find it. Thanks.

But yeah... I still think the one that Riverman is thinking of was the interview with Chad and Dwight.

If so, then fine. But i find it highly unlikely that Haynes would air out personal stuff like that on a radio show.

Bit freaking early to ask this question isn't it?

But for shits and giggles, I will say...no I do not.

Exactly. Haynes is Dames boy also why the hell would he blast his information like that.

Dude, we get it. You LOVE Amen Thompson and we're going to hear about him ALLLLLLL SEASON. I think he has potential. I think he's going to struggle next season against NBA competition.

You have been bashing on Scoot since before the draft. My point was that when Scoot was matched up on him, he had no problem being able to get past him or score.

You know what Scoot has that Amen does not have? Leadership. Personality. Gravitas.

The absolute worst thing we could do is replace Damian Lillard with another wall flower kid. Just put him up there with the gregarious twins... Simons and Sharpe. They both do so much talking.

Why do you lie? There is a literal video posted in the proximity of your post which highlights an example of Amen shutting down Scoot. It's a video, you can replay it over and over and it will still show you the same thing. You should watch it, or stop lying..

How would we know how good he is? All he does is float on the perimeter and wait for someone to pass him the ball. When he tries to do more, we'll have a better idea if he's an actual player.

He was mentally preparing to play on a Lillard-led (or Simons-led) team where supporting players often float on the perimeter and hope that they get passed the ball. More likely to happen with Lillard but I think we are in for a new style of play.

Going into the draft I really liked Amen & would have been as happy about Portland's draft as I was with how it turned out. Had they gone with Miller I'd have been happy management went with who they thought was the top talent available even though from my limited access I liked other players better. What I didn't want to see was them trade the pick for a quality vet as they are several good players away from being legit... trying to appease Dame Time(line) would have seemed a sad futile gesture.

That's where I was/am about the whole situation.

He shot 32% from three and 40% from the field. Most of those were wide open threes. That's not going to cut it.

Or Dame wants out and he really only wants to go Miami. Why isn't that possible?
Did Durant have a beef against the Nets' GM/ownership?
