The Blazers kick off their 2017 Las Vegas Summer League against the Utah Jazz who already have 3 games under their belts going undefeated so far.

Utah has been led by Dante Exum's 20 ppg, 6.3 assists and 4.3 rebounds. Rookie Donovan Mitchell kicking in 15.3 points, 3.3 assists and 2.3 rebounds. Eric Griffin, Joel Bolomboy and Julian Wright are all averaging 6 rpg or better.

Portland will counter with their two big first round Draft picks Collins and Swanigan up front with Jake Layman, Pat Connaughton and RJ Hunter as the likely starters.

I'll be looking to see how Collings and Swanigan play defense in a guard oriented league and if their ability to shoot and rebound will translate to this next level. I'd like to see Layman because more confident and somewhat of a do-it-all SF and for Pat to be able to run the team at PG at least a bit.

Almost without a doubt, we will all overreact as is partially the fun of Summer League. FINALLY, basketball is here since we've had nothing in the FA market to talk about.

Go Blazers! Will not get to see this game live....spending the day picking my year supply of blueberries today at the blueberry farm....will watch it in replay later.

Don't know if you caught this, but the press jumped the gun on the Hunter starting thing. He still could, but at the beginning of camp, he wasn't playing with the starters.

Yeah, Hunter was just a guess as the 5th starter. It's 4 players and a bunch of scrubs.

Just a reminder of my post from another thread:

Jazz have played together for 3 games, and are 3-0. Bleacherreport has Blazers as 15th (out of 30 teams), and the Jazz as 12th.

So, like MM said in an earlier post, I'll be looking for the individual skills of our big men in a guard league. In particular, how well do their skills translate to NBA-level competition.

My bet is Swanigan is our leading scorer in SL. If Hunter is indeed playing PG for us, the plan is obviously to feed the post and avoid having the usual little-guy-dominates-the-ball kind of ratball.

Anyone? I can't go to the bar.
You're welcome to come down here and watch it, if nothing closer works out. We're out of bourbon and pink whatever the fuck that was you were drinking the other night though. Lol. Another option....

Looks like they've been posting streams for all of the summer games. I've had great luck with their streams in the past...

I am on vacation and my best option is at the hotel gym on a either a treadmill or an elliptical machine with the built in TV. My room does not get ESPNU, but the gym does.....
Oh well I guess I can use the extra long workout....

Lol. Yeah, I normally stick to vodka. I'll pick some up for my Dad to try, if he hasn't had it before. Anyways, offer is there, if you happen to hijack a car or something.... Lol

Looks like it may get posted 1-2 hours prior to tip... they only have games that have started or are close to starting.

Can you watch them on a phone with the reddit app?

Finished picking blueberries early...first day open at the farm...with the Country Fair going on it was easy pickin'....son and daughter in law helped so we filled the freezer....get to follow the game now live! Go Blazers!

Damn... Now I need pie... :hungry:
