The title is just fine. If you don't like the way he titled the thread, I'm sorry.

I would be interested to see someone try to put a recap of the article into six words in a more accurate fashion.

Ed O.

Right now the Wallace story goes "Wallace cant wait to start... but he feels betrayed... Is it the Blazers fault? Check my thread to find out. The Gerald Wallace ongoing trade saga by Mixum.... With Dwight Jaynes"

Some might call that good marketing. The title is vague enough to attract enough attention for further clarification. In other words, it made people click on the thread. :)

This is correct. Which is exactly why Denny let's this garbage continue.

There are two victims on this board: 1) PapaG 2) Mixim.

You're the person acting upset over a thread title. If you assumed that the title meant something, well, that was your own fault. You basically outed yourself as being narrow-minded and incapable of understanding nuance. :)

Let's see...

Is the title going to be changed? No.

Is it fine? Yes.

Ed O.

Fine as in "misleading in order to get people to click it"? Yes.

Fine as in "how rational human beings interpret"? No.

I should have read the post before reading the title!

Sorry. Does that mean you leave your objectivity in your forum? :)

:) its just not my forum. Whether or not I agree how its moderated in another forum (that I moderate, not that I think I own), I try and not use my "Global Mod Powers" unless its something that has been left for a real long time, like the mods arent here to edit it.

Otherwise it would be like on Office Space when he was asked 8 times if he received the memo.

Fine as in "misleading in order to get people to click it"? Yes.

Fine as in "how rational human beings interpret"? No.

Fine as in "consistent with the content in the article"? Yes.

That's really the only one I'm concerned about.

Ed O.

I think this thread should be closed because no one wants to discuss the link Mixum actually posted but instead argue about shit that has nothing to do with the Blazers, Wallace or NBA basketball.

Since I see Ed O is posting here so I'll wait because I'm still new at this mod stuff and he outranks me.

Somebody is starting to recognize their power...

Wallace waiting to start (Hate's his coach).

Wallace waiting to start (thinks team sucks)

Wallace waiting to start (wants to kick owners ass)

Wallace waiting to start (thinks starting PF sucks)

all those are great subject titles.

No. Unless piecing random words from the article to form a random title constitutes "fine and consistent with the content".

Not at all.

Wallace wants to start.

He feels betrayed.

The two are not linked in terms of both being about the Blazers: they are linked about how Wallace feels. All one has to do is read the article to clear up any confusion.

I think, personally, that they are the two most important parts of the article.

I don't understand the hullabaloo.

Ed O.

We're closing this but I encourage anyone to PM me if they'd like to respond. Thanks.

Ed O.

haha you guys suck neener neener!

The title of the article is "Wallace: Bobcats betrayed me." The url is wallace-bobcats-betrayed-me.html (SEO friendly).

The article talks about that, and a few paragraphs in talks Blazers (Wallace waiting to start).

I'm not seeing anything wrong with the title of the thread. It's a blazers' forum and the blazers relevant bit is promoted (first) in the thread title.

Sheesh.

I cant speak for everyone in this, but to me it seems like this is a big deal to some people because how it is felt that Mixum manipulates words to make a message come across how he wants it. At first glance I could see how some would feel that way about this one.

I agree it was a bit misleading and coming from Mixum compounds that. It would have been easy to add 'by Bobcats' since there is no word limit on title threads.
