Man I really hope they don't do five years. This will undoubtedly piss some people off and hurt the feelings of others to read this, but that is just not a good investment for a 29 year old wing that makes his living off of hustle and athleticism and without much perimeter game.

You might try dropping the drama queen act of constantly trying to bash the other posters and just post about the topic.

Other than that, I agree. 5 years would be too much, assuming it is for large dollar amounts each year.

As our best player, he deserves big bucks. 4 years is about right. If the overrated non-clutch undependable Aldridge makes $12M/year, then the underrated Wallace with his expert clutchpertise deserves more.

Maybe we could trade Aldridge for 2 $6M Batums so we can afford Wallace.

Will Wallace still be better than LMA when Wallace is 33 and LMA is 30? Doubt it.

Gerald Wallace could run for mayor of the city of Portland and win right now. No question in my mind about that. He feeds off the fans at the Rose Garden, and is so difficult to contain on the home floor. He had 20 points, on 8 of 12 shooting, and had his usual number of hustle plays. But, it's his attitude that is the most valuable asset to this team. You're not going to bully him, and you're not going to out work him. That's contagious.

I can't emphasize just how important his energy is to this team. Like I already posted.... When he plays poorly, the team plays poorly.
