He may well be a racist but his reasons for not invading Iran are valid and as far as I can read here, my point is if a trumpet like him can’t agree with trumps invasion, then we have even less stability than we did before.

Right now, in this country, we are actually having statements from undereducated people along the lines of, Hitler was a bad person, but he was right about immigration or putting his country first or a ton of other crazy crap. It's grown to a point where we have seen propagandized symbolism from our government that is very similar to that used by Nazi Germany.

"He may well be a racist but..." hurts my soul. I will not validate a statement from a person who was only put into that position because of his hate, but also someone who believes that your wife and my father should not be in this country.

Doing right thing for wrong reasons.
Quitting Trump because he isn't and can't fulfill campaign promises yes.

I just assume that's a given with any Trump cabinet member or appointee. I still agree with him about not invading Iran. I have no doubt most of our executive branch and a big chunk of the legislators of govt would like your dad and my wife out of the country. Unfortunately if it keeps heading that direction we all may be looking to leave the fascist regime behind. Our govt is dangerous these days. I never liked Mike Pompeo but I respected his stance on Taiwan relations more than most diplomats in recent history. I think it's important to give props to an action even without praising the actor.

Joe Kent said 2020 election stolen and January 6 insurrectionists were political prisoners. Any violence that day was caused by FBI. That was enough for Trump to appoint him even if he is an anti-Semitic conspiracy theorist. Senate narrowly confirmed him on party line vote.
