everyone accepts that jesus was jewish, i was having a convo with someone the other day about this, neither of us knew why

was he a fertilized egg placed in marys womb? like god made the egg and put it there? would make him 0% jew by my estimation

or did god fertilize one of marys eggs, making him half jew/ half god?

do they teach this kinda stuff in sunday school? inquiring minds want to know

whats the deal yo
 
If your mother is Jewish, you're Jewish.

That's the only way to qualify.
 
if a white surrogate mother could give birth to a 100% sudanese baby, that baby wouldnt be considered white would it?

We could go on but three negatives should be enough.
 
Wook is right. Being Jewish is not about DNA or faith, it's about the mom being Jewish. It's a matriarchal thing. (or if you convert and it's approved by rabbis). You can not believe in god, that's fine, so long as your mom was a Jew, you would be too. Perhaps if you take on a different religion that would nullify your Jewishness, but that's about it. Practicing or non-practicing Jew, that's about it. So, I would say that Jesus was a non-practicing Jew. God could be Muslim, Hindu or just some cool surfer dude, if Mary was Jewish, Jesus was Jewish.

Of course, I have no idea if Mary was, that was the dominant religion at the time, but I don't think there is any evidence what Mary's religion was.

The standard applies regardless of ethnicity or religious beliefs.

John 4 31

Matthew 5 17
Luke 2 39-41
Luke 6 1-5

Starts with genealogy and follows through on how he worshiped and beliefs he followed..there is more and the bread crumb trail is easy to follow.
 
He was born in a barn, had no biological father at the time, wandered the region on a donkey...destroyed the temple of money lenders...he wasn't a jew, he was a gypsy maybe?
 
Sorry I didnt mean religiously, if a black woman converts to Judaism and has a kid, that kids a Jew, Jew

He wasnt white-white.
the reason we always think he's white was because thats how the churches wanted to perceive him a while back, and not as he actually was. (Some of them still do to this day, perceive him as a 99.9% white man).
