Or was it flexed in due to the Kobe situation?

Tough spot for the Blazers. Kobe worship-fest all night long, and the Blazers are just supposed cannon fodder. Hopefully Dame continues his hot shooting.

The OregonLive schedule indicates that it was always an ESPN game.

First game after Kobe is us because the Clippers game was postponed. Fuck. Blazers are going to get fucked in the ass. The NBA will want the Lakers to win for a feel good story. The Blazers are the villians. Refs are going whistle like a kettle at high steam. A most probable loss. Kobe fucking the Blazers one more time.

So you are saying Kobe's death will have no effect whatsoever?

I'm reminded of the Mariners playing in LAA after Skaggs' death. Got no-hit. Tough to do in basketball, but I don't expect double-digit FTs from Dame tonight.

I will not watch this game, because

1. The Lakers are a better Team than us, and they gonna Play in kobes Honor, which means they gonna Play as it was their Last game, no way they lose this game. We will see probably the most motivated Lakers Team in years.

2. It's gonna be all about the Lakers and rightfully about Kobe, but as a Blazers i dont wanna see my Team treaten like the bad guys from national television.

3. Even if we play great, no way the NBA let the Blazers win in Staple Center the First game After Kobes death, noooooo way

Very tough situation to be in. I just hope they're in it to win it, competing shouldn't make you the bad guys.

The silver lining is that this was likely a loss anyway.

Eh I'm going to enjoy the game no matter the result. If we win great but I'm not expecting a win at all. The Lakers are good this year and they've had 6 days off lol. They'll be rested and extremely focused.

Cool story

This definitely sucks. We're the bad guys on the wrong day to be the bad guys.
I was thinking about this but Melo was also close with Kobe so we’ve got #MambaMentality on both sides. Dame will show up for him too. Definitely a must watch basketball game for any fan.

Honestly? Good. This was a super tragic situation that’s more than basketball. In fact fuck basketball. Kids died on that helicopter. If this win for the lakers even for 1 seconds helps them heal in a small way, then so be it. RIP to the victims

This will be the ultimate of whether "scheduled losses" are a thing.

How do you figure? The Lakers are a way better team this year.

And they have all the scheduled advantages.

You're too argumentative lately for your own good. I guess too much time with BJ will do that.

Asking you a question is becoming too argumentative?

Usually a scheduled loss is playing a team on a back to back when they've been resting for a few days or something like that. Portland has had several days off in between their last few games. In my opinion saying the top team in the west beating the 10th team in the west at home in a non back to back situation isn't anywhere close to proving that scheduled losses are a thing.

It's probably me just being wildly optimistic, but I think the Blazers stand an excellent chance of stealing this one. Certainly much better chance than we would under normal circumstances, given the talent disparity.

How many times do you see championship teams lose on Ring Ceremony night? It happens quite a lot.

Athletes are humans, and we don't perform well when there's a massive psychological distraction.*

*Well, most athletes are human. Damian Lillard don't give a fuck about distractions.

Gotta agree bro. You must admit your posting style has changed. Couple years ago absolutely no one would be including you in a conversation about why they don't post on a forum any longer.

It's definitely going to be an emotional game. When emotions are involved anything can happen for sure.

Nah man, fuck the Lakers.
Ariza,CJ and Dame knew Kobe too.

Beating the Lakers is always what's best for business.
