Way too early trade suggestions (1 Viewer)

Is it too early to make a DeMar Derozan to the Blazers rumor thread yet?

ORL’s 1RP to ….Orlando

Jase Richardson to Portland
That would only work if they thought they'd be bad.

Orlando does not give up its players. It may have the most homegrown team out there. As one who wants Jase and long coveted Black, I say this in disappointment.

I didn't speculate that. Learn what hypotheticals are.
Speculation and hypotheticals are parallel concepts. The former is based on just an idea. The latter has some kind of evidence to support it. You don't have any evidence to support it, so what you think is hypothetical is actually speculation.

Maybe you can look that up too while you double-check Dillon Jones' career NBA stats.

Zion will have a Deni-like revitalization once he’s out of New Orleans.

Do it Joe!

I saw that the only two players that are "off the table" are Keegan "the other" Murray, and... Nique Clifford. So I lost interest.

The thing about all these old guys on bad teams - count CJ and Khris Middleton in with them - is other teams will just wait for buyouts or (in CJ and Middleton's case) if their deals are expiring, offer equally crappy players on long deals in exchange.

I predict that it will be very hard to trade:
Lavine
DeRozan
CJ
as well as young guys who've worn out their welcome, like
Ja Morant
Trae Young
LaMelo Ball
Zion Williamson

(Orlando's front office is super cautious (and Bane was their big splash) so they won't do this, but given how well the team has played without Banchero, I'd offer him for Zion or Markkanen straight up. Markkanen would fit seamlessly into their team and help fix a weakness, and the advantage of Zion is that he doesn't have history and can't sulk if he doesn't return to his prior prominence, as Banchero would.)

Portland HAS to be part of any Giannis trade.

With MIL’s unprotected picks/swaps in Portland’s control, Cronin can get a premium return as these are extremely valuable for the Bucks complete rebuild
If we're not part of a trade, the Bucks will want star players in return to avoid tanking.

I'd throw Grant, Sharpe, Rw3, Bucks picks back and one of our picks for Giannis and see if it starts a conversation, at least.

If the Knicks are his preferred destination, not saying they are, just for conversation sake, anything we want from them, to move Milwaukee their picks back?

The Knicks roster is old and doesn’t have any young prospects worth any MIL pick

Yuck.

I’m curious, when it comes to a trade suggestion, are you taking into account that Dame (Age 35) will be returning? It looks and you hear that his progress is coming along very nicely. Dame has said that this is the kind of team he’s been waiting for and he talks like he really believes that he can lead the team to championship level.
Do you think we have that championship level team with Dame coming back as is? If not then maybe a gamble on a Markkanen, AD or Sabonis type of player wouldn’t be so bad. I’m not suggesting, I’m just asking.

Dame thinks this team plus him is championship level? Uh no. They should trade all young guys and or picks for Giannis. Deni Dame Jrue Giannis Grant and fill out roster. At least it would be fun to watch vs this current group

I mean, if we give that Camara but keep Sharpe, that's not the worst thing in the world, either.
Giannis is arguably ripe 5 player. I think you’d be foolish not to at least consider adding Camara if it meant getting a deal done.

Bleacher Report’s top-3 trade targets for each team - Portland:

Lamelo Ball
Scottie Pippen Jr.
Collin Sexton

Ball under Billups would have been super intriguing.

I'm mildly intrigued by Pippen but yuk to the others. Is SPJ injured, BTW?

No interest in Lamelo. Made of glass.

Out (Toe) - The Grizzlies announced on Saturday (Oct. 18) that Pippen Jr. will undergo a procedure on his left big toe injury and will be re-evaluated in 12 weeks. (Updated Oct.18, 2025)

Who could actually trade for Giannis in-season outside of the Spurs? I don’t think a trade happens until this summer.

If a Giannis to Spurs trade happens, I’m not sure if I’m interested unless we end up with Dylan Harper.
