"We can beat any team in a seven game series..."

I can. I mean, I don't think the Blazers would be guaranteed to beat the Spurs in a series, but they wouldn't be guaranteed to beat the Rockets, Suns, Mavericks or Thunder (I assume that was your intended fourth team, you double-counted Phoenix in your list) either. I think the Spurs are nearly as beatable, these days, as those teams, especially at the end of another long season.

The Nuggets and Lakers are the only two teams in the West that I think are out of reach for the Blazers without Oden and Przybilla.

D'oh, yes I did mean the Thunder.

The way I see it, the Blazers are going to lock into the #8 unless Houston or Memphis makes a run. That means LA in the first round.
Great! More fights in the RG. Wahoo!

Last game we had a big disturbance in section 108, and an altercation in the 300 level.

maybe roy should shut up and focus on getting back rather then playing gm?

Yeah. His not shutting up is probably slowing down his healing process and rehab.

Another good insight! :)

I honestly think if Portland and LA play in the playoffs the mood in the RG is going to get ugly.

Someone is going to get a beat down right outside the arena.

You cannot overestimate the amount of hatred Portland fans have for Laker fans.

So, Roy makes a rather innocuous comment that basically shows support for his teammates, and suddenly he's being criticized for trying to be the GM? What's he supposed to say? We suck balls and my teammates are all terrible?

This place rocks. Good stuff.

Roy can state what he wants. Fans don't have to agree with him. Some fans here supported him. Amazing. Folks have different opinons. You know how fucking boring this board would be if everybody just agreed on everything?

All the while, the poor Laker fan screams "I don't even care about your piddly team! Why beat me up?!"

We've got some serious issues with LA as a fanbase.

Thanks for the lecture. I was commenting on this thread more than the overall ability of posters to express their views. I don't give a shit either way about what Roy says. I guess that's my position, as opposed to trying to derive meaning out of what seems a throw-away comment. If me adding my opinion is a problem, no biggie.

He's actually supposed to say nothing on the subject IMO in this sensitive trading time frame. If he wants to offer KP his opinions in private by all means, but button it up and leg KP be the GM.

Well, Roy is kidding himself by saying we can beat any team in the West esepcially without centers. It is great he is trying to provide a positive vibe, but this team, as is this season, cannot beat the Lakers, Nuggets, most likely the Jazz, and I still would take the Mavericks over us especially now they apparently have Caron and Haywood.

Edit: The Spurs could be tough too. Although, we have rocked them the last 5 games or something. We could beat them in a series, but we could also lose IMO.

Portland could potentially beat the Spurs in a 7 game series.

They wouldn't have a prayer against any of the other teams in the west.

More and more teams are realizing that Portland has next to no defense in the paint and are expoiting that over and over again. In a 7 game series the other team would make adjustments to get into the paint more and more. In the meantime there isn't a single thing Portland could really do to stop them.

The Blazers won't get swept but they sure as hell are beating any of the top teams in the west 4 times out of 7 games.

You are so right, absolutely correct in your astute conclusion that boredom would prevail were we all to be in absolute agreement. In fact I was about to post the exact same thing, word for word. It's uncanny how much we think alike, you must be clairvoyant. Great minds think alike...:chestbump:
