I don't do either but I REALLY hate what alcohol does to a person. Of course, in moderation, a person can maintain.

Have you seen a stoner go into a THC induced rage on his wifes face?

Weed pure that you grow your own if you know what you are doing is safe. Bit of short term memory loss is about the worst thing that can happen.

All these new mad skunk weeds that they come up with are dangerous.

The reason is that in weed there are various cannaboids and I believe the studies have reported CBD (Cannibidol) when balanced out with THC (Tetrahyrdocannibitol) and others has just the right balance to be safe. When however you come up with these super skunks in effect you are messing with the quantites of cannaboids and particularly lowering the levels of CBD which has shown anti-psychotic properties.

So in other words, learn what to do, grow your own, smoke away and you'll be fine.

Start buying from dodgy dealers and enjoy the straight jacket. :P

...for this reason, medicinal marijuana dispensary collectives in California are a beautiful thing!!! :smokeone:

Growing on your own seems like too much of a risk.

Btw, have any of you seen the documentary by Doug Benson called "Super High Me"?

In this movie, a doctor puts him through many tests - IQ, medical, ect., and provides unexpected positive results.

I've never heard of anyway getting fucked up and swearing that they will never smoke again, alcohol on the other, every single person i'm close with/me has said it, usually while puking/crying lol. I enjoy alcohol, but not all that much. The shit is straight bad for you. Herb on the other hand is awesome, totally balances your whole body out, i don't know anyone that has had a legit bad experience.

1. Marijuana is far less addictive than alcohol.

2. Deaths from the two substances. There are hundreds of alcohol overdose deaths each year, yet there has never been a marijuana overdose death in history. The consumption of alcohol is also the direct cause of tens of thousands of deaths in the U.S. each year.

3. Alcohol is one of the most toxic drugs, and using just 10 times what one would use to get the desired effect can lead to death. Marijuana is one of – if not the – least toxic drugs, requiring thousands times the dose one would use to get the desired effect to lead to death. This “thousands times” is actually theoretical, since there has never been a recorded case of marijuana overdose.

4. Long-term marijuana use is far less harmful than long-term alcohol use.

5. The UK Science and Technology Select Committee considers alcohol far more harmful than marijuana.

6. There has never been a documented case of lung cancer in a marijuana-only smoker, and recent studies find that marijuana use is not associated with any type of cancer. The same cannot be said for alcohol, which has been found to contribute to a variety of long-term negative health effects, including cancers and cirrhosis of the liver.

7. Studies find alcohol use contributes to the likelihood of domestic violence and sexual assault and marijuana use does not.

8. Studies find alcohol use contributes to aggressive behavior and acts of violence, whereas marijuana use reduces the likelihood of violent behavior.

9. Alcohol use is highly associated with violent crime, whereas marijuana use is not.

10. Alcohol use is a catalyst for domestic violence.

Alcohol is involved in nearly 50 percent of all domestic violence cases and the use of alcohol by the perpetrator is a predominant factor in fatal cases of domestic violence. Source: Abrams, Margaret L., Joanne Belknap, Heather C. Melton. When Domestic Violence Kills: The Formation and Findings of the Denver Metro Domestic Violence Fatality Review Committee. March 2001.

11. Alcohol use is prevalent in cases of sexual assault and date rape on college campuses. Marijuana use is not considered a contributing factor in cases of sexual assault and date rape, as judged by the lack of discussion of marijuana in sexual assault and date rape educational materials.

"Alcohol is the most commonly used chemical in drug facilitated sexual assault. In large part this is due to the fact that alcohol is easily accessible and a chemical that many people use in social interactions." Given the fact that marijuana is also "easily accessible" and used widely in "social interactions," it is quite telling that marijuana is not even listed at all on this "Drug Facilitated Assault" page.

For sure all drugs are different in that they have a different effect on behavior.

Looking at damage in this research I can only believe that we would be far better of to stock the liquor stores with cannabis and make alcohol illegal? Am I wrong?

Of course, we know that will not happen. But why all the fight on cannabis when research indicates minimal damage? Appreciate any comments.

I don't smoke, so the choice is simple for me. Sweet, sweet bourbon.

One is legal and one isn't, so the choice is simple for me as well.

...then you haven't tried a really strong sativa strain [if and when you do, then you may just shed the hermit effect :pimp:]

I've smoked a lot of good weed in my lifetime. I enjoy smoking occasionally, but I prefer alcohol much more.

That's really the point; Marijuana shouldn't be illegal when alcohol is.

When enough is ingested one will make you lazy, the other makes you dangerously incoherent.

An average of 85,000 alcohol related deaths happen per year in the United States.

Marijuana: zero.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

"We should never forget that everything Adolf Hitler did in Germany was 'legal' and everything the Hungarian freedom fighters did in Hungary was 'illegal.'"
- "Letter from Birmingham Jail," Why We Can't Wait, 1963.
Don't EVER let the law tell you what is moral. That slope is as slippery as they come. If you unquestioningly follow every law sooner or later you will do evil, as sooner or later evil people will get into power and make laws. This has happened in every country in history. A hundred and 70 years ago Slavery was legal, but some saw that the law was wrong. Eventually a war was fought.

Marijuana is a huge reason that young black men absolutely FLOOD our prison system. It destroys lives and breaks homes, the "It" I'm referring to is the atrocious and barbaric drug law against Marijuana in a country where Cigarettes (leading cause of death and more addictive then heroin) and Alcohol are legal.

yeah bro...and you can totally like make rope and twine out of hemp man, it was all a conspiracy from the paper industry dude.

I enjoy both a whole heck of a lot. However, if I was given the option of only one of them for the rest of my life I would choose weed. Pot has always been almost like a calming influence on me. I never get out of control, can think of great ideas and can have fun doing about anything while stoned. Give me a pool stick while I'm stoned and I won't ever be beat. Golfing stoned is awesome as well, I get in a zone and there's no stopping me. Catching high pop flies while I was playing high school baseball was kind of a bitch stoned though.

LOL, it actually was a conspiracy by the timber industry, I think cotton industry, oil industry, William Randolph Hearst and a few others to get rid of an industrial opponent. The "drug" aspect of things was simply used an excuse to get rid of the industrial applications of the industrial hemp plant which need not have more then 0.00000000001% THC in it if that.

Justin Timberlake is an avid smoker and even smokes with his mom.

He just earned cool points in my book

Gotta go with sweet sweet single malt scotch. The 3 times I've smoked weed it made me paranoid as hell and did not make me calm in the least bit. Liquor on the other hand does just what I want it to do.
