Watching Splitter coach he kind of reminds me of Jerry Sloan...stoic, unfazed, seriously fixed on the game. A no bullshit coach. Some coaches look more like highly paid spectators than coaches who roam the sidelines keeping refs and players in check

When Liam Neeson was trying to come up with the personality of his character in Taken, he modeled it on Jerry Sloan (probably). I don't see that in Tiago.

Tiago actually has what it takes. His success in the European league as a coach wasn’t a fluke. They didn’t just win their league, Paris was competitive in European competition. Can we get some Tiago Spurs highlights in here?

I don’t even remember who Paris had last season, but Tiago was part of one of their best seasons recently. They had some players.

Even if Splitter isn't the tallest NBA coach ever, I would bet anything he's got the longest neck and will hold that record until giraffes learn to coach basketball.

I think it was the plan all along. Just wasn't meant to be deployed so quickly.

I think it is highly likely. I think he was hired, in part, for this reason. I think it just came MUCH quicker than the Blazers thought it would.

This was my hope when he was hired. That they were eyeing him as the eventual replacement.

I didn't expect it this soon though.

I would go for that. I think he coaches as though he truly cares. It was interesting before this all went down, during the preseason and at FanFest, I saw him on the sidelines and wondered, "who is that? This guy definitely has a presence to him."

Thiago has a calmness about him. Which the team seems to react positively to.
