That’s why he said “elevated.”

"Elevated" means nothing in this instance.

Clingan should not be compared to Joel Pryzybilla. It's lazy or stupid. Find a better comp.

Marc Gasol was an elevated Joel Przybilla. It's a ridiculous statement that nobody would say ever.

You’re lazy and stupid…..er I mean what I meant is that Clingan a plodding good defender with zero offensive game in the post that does the little things to help his team win…..Like Joel

You should be back on his ignore, you’re just a troll and not a very good one, at least be a funny troll but you’re neither that either lol.

Przybilla's career average minutes was 19.2 and his high was 24.9

* his career rebound rate was 18.6%; high was 22.8%
* his career TS% was .568; high was .652
* his career block rate was 5.4%; his high was 7.6% (Ayton's career mark is 2.7%; Nurkic 3.9%; Plumlee 3.2%; Robin Lopez 3.9%; Whiteside 7.5%; Marcus Camby 6.2%; Theo Ratliff 7.2%; Sabonis 3.2%)

I would hope that Clingan beats all of Przbilla's marks. TS% might be a challenge

I remember Joel had stone hands. He fumbled the ball away a lot, which seems to be the opposite of Clingan.

But he had tremendous "Red Azz".
"Meet Me outside!"
I loved what he brought on defense though. He had a 3 year stretch here where his block% was 7%. And his DRB was over 30%.

He just looked like he had never played basketball in his life offensively.

Yeah free throws were a problem also.

In all seriousness, he’s basically an elevated Joel Przybilla on defense. No offensive game. Plods. Is out of shape. BUT…..seems like an incredible teammate and will make our team better.

Your impact on offense as a big is more than being just a post threat. Clingan is a great screener on and off the ball because he's actually a threat to finish on the roll. Joel Przybilla never averaged double digits PER 36 for any one season in his career.

Your statement above is like the equivalent of saying OG Anunoby is basically an elevated Matisse Thybulle on offense. Sure it's technically a true statement, but it actually says nothing about each player.

Every once in a while, I hit that "show ignored content" button. I know I shouldn't. That curious side of me wants to see that folks might change. Yet........every time I do, I read like one or two posts
and think, yep.......had it right in the first place. I ignore fans who pound home points over and over, looking for anyway to restate their view, regardless of the actual title of the thread. I ignore them
the same way I would items on a menu I know I don't like....or genres of movies I don't like.

??

are you talking points? If so, then yeah. But he averaged double digit rebounds per36 nine times in his career

and to your point about screen-setting. Przybilla was excellent at that. It was one of his few strengths. He constantly freed Brandon Roy from defenders opening driving lane's for Roy's ambidextrous dribble-drives

making this comparison though is way premature. We have over 600 games of Przybilla facing NBA competition on NBA floors. We have 0 games of Clingan doing the same

I probably should take your advice here. Gluten for punishment!

How is my opinion trolling? Is anything I said about Clingan wrong?
He plods
He is a great defender
He has no low post game
He makes the team better

I don’t get it?

And I’m fucking hilarious

I think you'll find (in time) that third point is where the comparison falls flat. Clingan may not be asked to do much more than dunk early in his career, but he has good fundamentals and touch.

Also, I would consider Clingan more of a plodder than Pryz, but their net effect might be similar because Clingan's anticipation is so good, he makes up for being slower. Partly, I think it's just how long his limbs are, making him appear slower than he really is. Watch him get up and down the floor, and he's really pretty quick for his size. (Was Pryz really even a plodder? I feel like his athleticism is what made up for his lack of skill.)

I definitely know some you have on ignore then lmao.

The season finally starts today so hopefully now that the NBA is back we can start talking more about the games and progress of certain players and etc

He definitely isn’t a plodding as Joel “I have two left feet”

He has shown he can at least knock down a 3…and if he keeps working on it hopefully he becomes a decent 3 point shooter, but we need a bigger sample size.

He is a better passer and has better court vision.

That’s a few things right there.

You may think your posts are “hilarious “ but I think they’re “mediocre”

Btw I’m not being 100% serious, half joking and having some fun.

All of your points are valid except the plodding part.
