He seems like a better prospect than the Finnish fella at least.

My point....he better be really good.
My point....he better be really good.
I watched Gonzaga a lot and he's got potential but he really seemed like a guy that should've stayed another year to showcase his skill as a heavy minutes player...
He's filling Meyers role, so much of what he does on Defense is going to look like a big improvement. No hate to Meyers, I respect him, but we all know how it is...The more I learn about Zach, the better I feel about the pick. He appears to be the perfect blend of skills that will fit nicely with this roster. Plus his attitude matches the team culture Dame has worked so hard to develop. He is going to do a lot of the dirty work the team needs done, and be happy doing it. Especially on D.
Very disappointing with this pick. The guy reminds me of a poor man's Cody Zeller. Trading a 15 and 20 for that is not that exciting. I am however excited for Caleb Swanigan. He's come a long way to make it here and it seems like he will flourish.

You may want to take a deeper dive before you call Collins a poor man's Cody Zeller. In fact, the exact opposite is true. Based on their collegiate performance, Zeller would be, at best, a poor man's Zach Collins.
Start by looking at advanced stats, like TS%, TRB% and BLK%. Collins wins on all counts.
As freshmen, Collins averaged almost as many rebounds and 50% more blocks in 17 MPG as Zeller did in 28 MPG.
And Zeller was the 4th pick in the draft, making Collins look like a real bargain at 10.

Moe has definitely shown improvement since we picked him up. Last year was definitely his best. He just needs to keep on grinding in the gym and working on his handle and 3 point shot (which are already looking better each year. I'm rooting for the guy.If not this season, the following season, our starting lineup is fucking solid as fuck, especially if someone establishes themselves as our 3 (Moe, please?).

He's a bit of a slow grower, but there is continuous slow improvement. As much as he can keep working on his game, he did shoot .503 from the field and .351 from 3 last season. Keep on grinding buddy. For sure. I'm rooting for Moe. He's was one of the few non-Blazers I followed, then we got him. I believe he has a big future.
We'll have to wait and see. Your pattern seems legit, but each player improves at different rates. I'm hoping for some freshman flashes and a nice coming out party in year two.I don't see Collins contributing meaningful numbers until his 3rd year at the least. That seems to be the pattern that Rookies, besides Dame, seem to take on this team.
Ezeli is obviously gone. Davis could easily be sent away. Aminu could still be valuable sharing time at the 3 with Moe and playing small ball 4 when needed. Meyers should either be moved or in the worst case scenario, sit on his ass for the rest of his time in Portland.I love this pick, I was hoping we would trade up to get Collins, I just hoped we'd could use #15 + #26 and keep #20 for Anunoby or Ferguson, but I'm alright with Swanigan.
It does mean we'll see some movement in my opinion. Can't have that many bigs fighting for 2 spots.
I mean CJ would have come on earlier if not for the foot surgery.I don't see Collins contributing meaningful numbers until his 3rd year at the least. That seems to be the pattern that Rookies, besides Dame, seem to take on this team.
