Link? I heard it was Aminu.
Nope, it wasn't Aminu, they mentioned it during the broadcast either the 1st or 2nd Blazer games. I think Jason Quick mentioned it in an article as well.

I think this year, Collins should be our backup center. The Blazers really miss that interior defensive presence with Nurkic leaves the game.

I see your point about him being backup C, but why bother with that, when Nurk is franchise C and Collins certainly could be developed as a PF and could be great fit next to Nurk... if we didnt have Nurk, that would be much more of a debate whether he should be C or PF, but now its not even debatable for me

I think Collins should fill the same role he did last year at Gonzaga. Backs up the starting center but also shares the court with him. I see his future at PF as well but he's also the best rim protector we got outside of Nurk.

Id like to see both of our rookies play, so Collins gonna be backup C and Swanigan gonna be PF of course and Im fine with that, but in a couple of seasons, I can see Collins starting at PF (why waste his talent by him being a backup to Nurk), and Swanigan as backup to Collins... Collins just looks more of natural talented guy, unlike Swanigan whos more of a hard working guy with some skill

In this league, the PF and center positions are becoming somewhat interchangeable. There's a few physically dominating centers that would abuse Zach, but even them want to hang out at the three point line.

Yeah, I think a 3-big rotation of Nurk/Collins/Biggie is definitely the future. I also think that Nurk/Collins should start because Collins is the better defender and we could better utilize Biggie's offense in the second unit. But we should always have two of them on the floor - Nurk goes out, Biggie comes in; Collins goes out, Nurk comes back. So all of them will end up sharing the floor together in one of three doubles pairings: Nurk/Collins, Collins/Biggie, Nurk/Biggie.

If Ed wants to re-sign for a Vet Min I'm cool with him getting table scraps and being an insurance policy. But 90% of the PF/C minutes should go to N/B/C.

As soon as Olshey find back up for Nurk then I can see Collins moving to our starting 4 but this year I see him backing up Nurk and also figuring the NBA out. There know rush if he gets 18-20 minutes a game that be huge for him as a rookie.

What did I miss? I gather Collins had a good game against the Clips? What happened to Biggie Mainia?

I think you under sell what Ed brings to the table. He has a place in the rotation.
Although I agree with most of what you said

I think a four man rotation of Nurk/Collins/Swan/Davis is totally fine. I'm not sure where Vonleh is going to fit in though, when he comes back.

Vonleh instead of Davis, he improved when Nurk came in and it could raise his value for a trade

thats why we need to see them play together Casey, before we say they cant play together right now
Nurk and Jokic never got the chance to play together and yet they say they couldnt play together

if you dont try it, how can you know...

I think Collins is the only one that can really be a defensive presence inside, so I'd bring him off the bench so we can have 48 minutes of interior defense, until he becomes so good that he has to start.

I think Biggies passing would be invaluable to the second unit (& his scoring).
Should work paired with defensive ability of Aminu.

Collins, along with Nurk, can provide some lock-down defensive presence to the first unit front court and provide clean-up duty for all the first teams firepower.

I hope he starts many games at 4. I think his future will be there, as Nurkic is very young and will stick around for a long time therefore 'forcing' Collins to develop his game as a 4 more, which I reckon is better for him anyway. I like his game a lot, he seems to be genuinely good at so many things and I really don't see any glaring weaknesses in his game, he looks like a complete player at such a young age.

The way Collins move on defense he can play the 4. On offense you always have a player on the low post due to both Collins and Nurk can shoot the outside shot. Plus Collins moves without the ball make Nurk assit totals to go up. But right I don't think there going to rush him because of strength and he still learning the game. But I do see him our future 4.

I think its the idea that what we currently see with Collins is the raw and inexperience version is what makes him so appealing. He looks like a 2nd or 3rd year player that is just starting to "get it". What an awesome thought that he still has room to develop and grow and get better with experience. That's why he should play as much as possible. Can you imagine him with more strength and say the ability to take his man off the dribble. He then starts to look like Porzingis. Im not saying he will or should be that player it was just an example but the idea that he has room to grow with a foundation that is already so good is awesome.

With our normal starting PF's, that might be early November.

I think Collins will have a hard time beating Swanigan out. Biggie is just so active out there.
