Well folks, we've got 3 1/2 hours to cash in our winning lottery ticket (1 Viewer)

And a .500 record in our last 6 games including losses to the Warriors and Thunder, as well as eke out wins at home against the Knicks and Grizzlies.

All is well.
So when Boston went 1-5 in a 6 game stretch including two losses to sub .500 teams, they should've freaked and made a trade too?

We're 2 1/2 games ahead of 9th in the conference. It's not like we have a stranglehold on the playoffs.

Exactly. We were in a nail biter last night at home against the Grizz. This team isn't playing great basketball right now.

Huge mistake to stand pat.

It still means there a lot of teams in worse shape than we are.

There is no way to know we're going to make the playoff, but there is no proof that Vince Carter locks a playoff birth either. Making at trade could knock us out of the playoffs, you never know.

No trades is fine with me. We're still making the playoffs.

Celtics comparisons? Really?

Then they went back on a huge run because they had loads of talent and could play defense. That's not happening with this roster.

we are not boston. comparison failed
We're not Boston. We're the 4th best team in the West. We're not the 9th best team in the West. Look at the records...

Making a trade because of a 6 game stretch would be a serious knee-jerk reaction. That is all I'm responding to.

My point was very simple, I'm sorry you missed it.

They tried to talk a couple of guys out of retirement to come play for them during that stretch.

So yeah, they kind of did.

Pick a team in the league that hasn't had a bad 6 game stretch or lost to a couple sub .500 teams.

I'd love to make a good trade, but I have no proof one is out there...

And they didn't get anyone, and guess what, they are going to be ok...

Perhaps Pritchard is paying attention to MLB and seeing how much the economy has changed the $ amounts for FA and thinking the same thing will happen in the NBA, thus resulting in getting a better player for cheap.

The other thing to consider in this playoff run is that our team - as it is currently comprised - is young and untested. We don't have anyone on the roster who has been a key component in a playoff run. Every other team that we are competing with for a playoff spot has guys that know how to elevate their game late in a season and aren't rattled by the pressure of needing wins.

The last couple of weeks, I've started to see our young guys get rattled by big moments, and it worries me for our race to the playoffs as our roster currently stands.

its over.... piss on the fire....you know it, i know it, everyone knows it

Does that mean you won't be watching anymore Blazer games this year?

maybe this means he's given up on the Blazers and won't post here anymore....*fingers crossed!*

Yesterday, the RLEC was rated as one of the most valuable trade chips in the league. As of 15 minutes ago - it is worth exactly zero.

Anyone who isn't disappointed is kidding themselves. It may not be a reason to jump off a bridge, but it is sure as hell nothing to be *happy* about!

Outside of Maris I think almost everyone is disappointed we didn't make a move (as long as it would have been a good move), but its not the end of the world. We still have a great nucleas, and I think have a great core and a future great starting 5.

I wanted everyone in the world to die when I found out that no trade had happened (I was busy all morning and couldn't check properly til right around noon). So yes, I was upset. That doesn't rob me of the ability to think rationally.

Frankly, it comes down to this (since we don't know what offers really existed): Either you think Pritchard is incompetent or you don't.

I don't go for slogans like "In KP I trust," but I think his performance so far is that of a competent GM. Considering I have no actual information on what deals were available and the actual values of assets like RLEC, I'm not going to turn a disappointing result into "Pritchard is a moron who has less basketball common sense than all the fans who post on the Internet."
