If the playoffs started today, we'd be a playoff team.

Of the top eight teams in the west, only Memphis has a worse overall net difference (we are +2.0 on Points For vs. Points Against - Memphis is -9.4). However, I'm a large part of Memphis' problem is the shellacking they got from the Warriors.

By the end of November we will have played Memphis (twice), the Spurs (twice), Houston (once), and the Clippers (twice). If the Blazers can win 3 of those games, I'll start to believe that they can make the playoffs.

That's kind of my thought. Still holding out on the wait and see approach.

I like that we can go small and not lose rebounds with aminu harkless and plums all doing dirty work. Seems an awful lot like last years champs...

The thing I've noticed so far is we can beat anyone with weak perimeter D, but we'll struggle against teams that can stay in front of Dame and CJ. That doesn't bode well for beating Memphis/SA/LA.

SA and LA aren't that scary imho when it comes to stopping Dame and CJ. Parker is a liability, Redick as well. They would do well against us in the past because Wes isn't a scorer.

CP always shuts down Lillard, but we'll see if they can handle CJ in conjunction.

Saying Parker is a liability is like saying Patty Mills and Boris Diaw are lousy defenders because that's what they were for other teams. The system in S.A. makes them all above average.

Parker IS a liability, especially when having to guard Dame. Dame averages 27/6/5 against the Spurs.

You must not have watched the final preseason game then because that did NOT happen.

Preseason is a measuring stick for garbage teams, not the good ones.

I'm starting to think, if we continue to play this way, that Olshey will be more active in looking to make deals. Packaging a couple of the guys for a top player on a team that just didn't work out.
