I think they have been equally important. Joel is important because he has been able to play in all the games and has been the best backup center in the league in my opinion. But he also forces the team to generally play 4-5 when they're on offense. Greg, while suffering some unfortunate injuries, has been just as important because he improves our rebounding and keeps the defense honest when he is on the floor. I think the other teams respect/fear Greg's presence more than they do Joel's.

Alright fair enough, this is much more debatable than the other topics in this thread. :devilwink: Obviously Oden has had some good moments/games/weeks this year but IMO Joel has been the rock for you guys.

BTW...whos has started more games of the two this year?

Blazers would win the championship, if only if Webster wasn't hurt.

DaRizzle- what you're not realizing is the COST of the injuries. When there is no Oden, it means we have to play Frye. That is a big drop off. When there is no Webster, it means we have to play a guy who wasn't supposed to play at all this year.

With Utah, they had Millsap to fill in for Boozer very admirably. There were even people who considered Millsap for an All Star berth this season.

So having to play Kyrylo Fesenko or Kosta Koufos for 20 minutes at least a game isn't a drop off for Utah? Don't know if you noticed but Frye>Koufos . You have no Batum argument since we had to play a 19 year old rookie who wasn't suppose to play either. Millsap plays all the back-up big minutes when everyone is healthy, so when Boozer went down & Millsap had to start, we lost our back-up PF & C along with 5 PPG & 2 Rebounds.

irrelevant

Kingspeed,

If we were to sit down and have a trivia battle about the game I would own you. :ghoti:

You think you know more about the game than you really do. . .

*cough* Devin Harris *cough*

The Devin Harris thing was all in fun. I know a fuck of a lot about this game and I have credentials. I wrote a piece for Oregonlive.com for 5 years and I was quote on CNN and CNNSI (the TV stations, not the website). I was the NBA consultant to Papa Joe Chevalier when he was with One on One Sports. I basically told him what to talk about and what to know, etc. I also wrote a blog for NBA.com that was often featured on the front page of the site. On top of all that, from 1990-2009, I know as much about this league as anyone I know. I know history too, of course, but from 1990-2009, I own anyone. Without looking it up, who was the East's #1 seed in 1994? I bet you don't know. I do. I live and breathe this stuff.

So basically, you're saying we have similar situations. That's all I intended to say. Utah's situation has been worse off, but we've had problems too. That's all. People overlook our injuries because we've played so well through them.

Greg 39, Joel 25.

This guy just re-inspired my journalism career

Im sure that had nothing to do with you being an actor

Greg. 39 to Joel's 26

Oh man you guys have brought out the Oregonlive Kingspeed from the depths of the BBF/S2 Kingspeed. I wonder if he will throw out a quote about how we're all small town and he is big league like Rasheed Wallace like he did a few year ago on OLive. This is pretty classic.

No, he is not saying that at all actually, have you read any of his posts?

I wasn't famous on any major level til 4 years ago, but I worked for Papa Joe back in 1998 and started work at Oregonlive during the 99-00 season.

I never said anything like that.

This is fun. 3am. Goin at each other. I love it. Game starts in 7 hours. Fuck, I should sleep, but I'll probably play PS3. My Blazers are 48-20.

He's very selective with what he reads...

shocking...truly shocking

Kingspeed, Im only about a 30min drive from you right now with no traffic...dont make me drive up there and slap you :devilwink:

He was saying that they've had to play a teenager too. So that's similar to us though we've had to start one.

You're teenager wasn't trying to replace 15ppg & 10 rpg since that's what Millsap's void & Boozer's void is combined.

Never has this been more true for me

Goodnight

My guess without looking it up is Orlando. I might be wrong, but that is just one question, I could pull many questions out of my ass that would stump you as well. I live and breathe this stuff as well and have a sponge-like memory when it comes to useless sports trivia. I would bet good money, if there were a way we could have someone give us trivia that I would own you. I might not have been on some blogs that are based around some sort of celebrity, but I got my shit together.

The answer is Atlanta. They beat the Heat in 5 games in the first round before losing to the Pacers (who swept the Magic in the first round) in the second round in 6 games. I didn't look this stuff up. I just know it all. I believe you know a lot too. Maybe we're even because I can't imagine someone knowing much more than me EXCEPT when it comes to college basketball and where people played. I know most of that stuff but not as well as others cuz outside of Oregon and Michigan, I don't care about college basketball at all. If we're ever in the same city, let's set up a trivia contest given by a third party. That'd be fun.

I'm down.

PM me if your in the Portland area. We can put some duckets on it as well.

Ok, got a question, which team do you guys think is better, Utah or Portland?

Too bad the game is at 10am... seems unfair, couldn't they at least make game time 3pm EST?

"Home" games, where I live, start at 4 AM (was 5 a week ago) and the Hawks game will start at the great 7PM.
